Why?
Wondering why on the first iOS screen it says , please don’t connect to cell phone Bluetooth. Can’t see why this is an issue??? Am I missing something. Must it then only be used on iPad? Or Mac’s with m series processors.

Fogstar battery appears to function as intended, the app is barely adequate. It needs to be manually connected to the battery every single time it loads, it loses connection instantly when in the background requiring sorting through a list of all Bluetooth devices in range (a list which jumps around as new devices are ‘noticed’). There is no history function, which may be a BMS limitation but the irritating way of making a connection is down to a poorly coded app.
Not impressed - trying to work power tools on a remote job site with two £800 batteries - and when the app decides to play up you simply can’t turn the battery on! Needs major work and disappointing why it’s been this way the several months I’ve had it.
In my experience, including having used other apps including xiaoxing bms app the following could be improved: 1. Fixing the pop up that shows up too frequently when the app is running in the background. It is extremely annoying and unnecessary. 2. Having to scroll through a list of discoverable BT devices to find the battery is a chore and the list refreshes so fast you end up tapping on some other device by mistake which can take a while to go back and find the battery only to make another mistake! 3. If you are using accessibility features such as larger fonts, bold fonds for visibility, the layout gets messy with some icons getting cropped from the screen instead of adjusting proportionately to the screen zoom level. The batteries are great, high quality. It would be nice for the app to compliment the standard set by the batteries.
The app gives a useful insight into the battery status & health however as other reviewers have said there are plenty of annoying features like listing every Bluetooth device, the loss of BT connection when the phone screen locks or the app goes into the background & the battery status history graph only reflecting the status for the duration of the connection.
App seams to work well with plenty of information on the battery health even the individual cells within the the battery connected. What let this down massively is the inability to change anything within the app like individual views of setting a custom display of the information that I’m interested in as a user. Plus little things like maybe a widget on the Home Screen so user can monitor whilst doing other things instead of have to load the app every time.
The initial connection seems clunky , I have 2 batteries and have to tap on one to get both of them up and running , I then have to tap on which battery I want to view , I’ve also just noticed that if I turn off the discharge it also cuts out the charge too , could be an app fault or battery fault I guess , the list of Bluetooth signals is a bit annoying , as is the unwanted battery connect signal that pops up on screen lock , I do like the battery status main screen though , tidy and well thought out
Very useful app, having this functionality removes the need to have an external voltage/current monitor for the batteries. I have two Fogstar Drift batteries in parallel, so it allows you to check the current and state of charge for each battery. Totally agree with other reviews that PIN security is needed. This is vital to stop unauthorised access to the battery controls. I don’t want someone else deliberately or accidentally turning off my batteries.
It’s not a bad app the layout is nice but a few things need addressing, the constant pop up window demanding you view the app when running in background is very annoying. Having to select the battery in Bluetooth every time. The temperature on cell 1 is apparently the bms temperature and not the cell temperature, very confusing.
As the title, the history part on the app keeps crashing/freezing on my iPhone the only way to resolve is to delete the app and reinstall it. Emailing the company to report the problem doesn’t warrant a reply apparently.
