The fingerprints work well with keeping the kids out and always unlocks for my wife and I. BUT you will never be able to use the app to lock/unlock because the knob’s Bluetooth will never connect. So if you’re ever trying to grant remote access, move on to a different product. The app was only good for setting up fingerprints. That’s it. Also wish it came with a long charging cord (or any for that matter). I don’t have a nearby outlet so I have to take apart the knob to charge it? 😑

I am using the app to control a fingerprint doorknob. Neither the passage mode nor the security mode is available/works. The manual states that the modes can (only) be enabled/disabled on the app but there is no setting option available accept “lock volume” I have tried to get support. Hopefully the developer or someone else can assist?

App has become useless! Couldn’t get into room. Tried my fingerprint several times and nothing. Open app to open door…function to open door is GONE! Just 3 ways to sell you more devices via Amazon. WHAT??? What happened to the ability to open app via Bluetooth? 🙄Seriously? Horrible and useless!

The lock itself is so nice, but I don’t like how it takes seconds to connect to the Bluetooth. For example, someone wants to come inside, but I don’t feel like getting out of my bed, so instead I go to the app, but connecting it takes a minimum of 10 seconds and u have to be a couple of feet away in order to control your own door lock. Make it make sense!!!

Once Bluetooth disconnects it will not reconnect without rebooting your phone or factory resetting the lock. Makes the app totally useless. In addition, no one like an app for a product they spent good money on to have advertisements. It’s just tacky.

I haven’t had any problems with the two door knobs I have, I ended up buying the gateway to be able to unlock and lock the doors remotely using the Wi-Fi as with the Bluetooth, you have to be close to the doors for it to work. The app needs a major update, I don’t like how being able to lock the door within whatever seconds it is set automatically turns on, I feel it is a hazard, and once it has been turned off, it should not go on by itself, and with the app, I wish it shows the lock status instead of having to click it to see the status of that particular lock. And this is not really an issue, but an annoyance, the colors that show when the door is locked or unlocked, the red and green, should be switched, if the door is unlocked, it should be green and if the door is locked it should be red.

Poor app. Wont connect to my door knob. See the device but after 20 attempts wont connect. I give up.

I purchased my geek smart doorknob over a year ago and I couldn’t be more happy than I am with it. The locks amazing. It comes with keys, plastic fobs, fingerprint compatibility, the ability to program passcodes, invite users, sync it with Alexa or Siri, grant permissions or revoke them all through the app. The app has never failed me. It never locks up, or freezes, it is used to program and change or delete fingerprints. You can use the app to open the door if someone knocks and I don’t wanna get up. Customer service can be reached directly thru the app using a live messenger feature and you can also email them thru the app. I had a problem with my first lock, I messaged them and in less than 5 days a new lock was delivered free of charge, no questions asked. They are by far my favorite company, they have thought of everything and make using products so easy. I rant all the time about my geeksmart products and the ease of connection thru the app. There are so many new products. If they are anything like the locks, you’d be lucky to have them and the app is so easy to navigate thru. Most smart products make me feel stupid, this one makes me look like a programming god. It never fails. I’ve only replaced the batteries in my lock 2 times in a year and I’m constantly on the app creating new passcodes, updating fingerprints ect. It connects thru bluetooth and doesn’t drain my phone or the locks batteries. I don’t understand why anyone would give it less than perfect ratings because my experience with them has been a pleasure. Thanks Geeksmart for creating solutions before problems arise and for being so friendly and thoughtful. It makes a huge difference in my life.

I want to love the lock! It’s everything I was looking for. However, as others have noted, it does not stay connected to Bluetooth which defeats the purpose of using the app to open the door remotely. If that issue is fixed it would be great!

Just received our KO1 lock. Installation was simple enough. We purchased it for the Bluetooth capabilities….and as others have pointed out….its WORTHLESS! Bluetooth won’t stay connected and absolutely ANYONE can open the lock with a simple touch of the fingerprint sensor. Every time the Bluetooth connection is lost, the door beeps. At the time of this review the KO1 lock has beeped every 30 seconds for the last 4 mins. We will be shipping it back immediately. I rated it 2 stars because it does come with keys if you’re not using the Bluetooth technology.
