Geotab Drive

There are so many better apps out there. My 14 year old grandson could put together something better. Among several things, when a driver reports a problem with a trunk it will stay in the app until it’s repaired. So it could be something simple and in that time you’re not able to do any other inspections. Nor are you able to tell the driver that the part is on order or it’s being taken care of it will stay there forever until it’s officially repaired by the service department. Having the wrong time, and just being overall funky, This thing is just an overall bad design.

Won’t let you split break. Continues to deplete your 14 hour clock even after 2-3hour off duty break. Not user/driver friendly. Motive much better. I’d take the old clunky Qualcomm with the physical keyboard and send in macros over this thing.

I drive for USA Truck, have been for 5 years, not sure if other companies use this system. I use this Geotab app on my iphone 8 running ios 13.3, iphone 15 pro running 17.0.0, and the tablet provided by my company in the truck. The user-interface is nice and i have no complaints there, however using this app is excruciatingly painful. It’s like running through water. Signing inspections takes literal minutes. Sometimes the app crashes while signing inspections and i have to do it again and again and again. This is the general theme with many functions, including verifying logs, synchronizing logs, attaching/detaching assets, certifying repairs, etc. this is absolutely insane. I have complained about this via the app a couple times and seen no improvements. Something has to change, this is so incredibly unacceptable and wasteful of my time and company time.

Don’t walk around the truck with tablet in your hand it will put you in driving mode! This app is a total!

I’ve never written a review before for any app but I feel a burning hatred towards this one specifically. This is the worst app to happen to the trucking world. Like the other person said if I could give it no star I would.

Please fix the issue when selecting an asset from the dashboard the screen will come back blank sometimes and it takes 4-5 tries to get it to populate

Would’ve given it no stars, but not an option. App and browser version are total garbage, customer support is also little to be desired. Biggest problem is it murders your battery, especially in my job where I have much more important job functions that I need my phone for, but can’t do my actual job because this app kills my battery in a matter of 4 hours. For those about to say “Charge your phone”, not an option my job requires me to constantly be moving around. Until something is done to reduce battery usage, my only option is to force the app to shut down immediately after inspecting a vehicle, which I would imagine stops the app from tracking where I go. Would not recommend companies require the use of this app for asset management.

This is the biggest junk app I’ve ever used. Something that people’s livelihood is relied upon to track FEDERAL regulations and I constantly have issues. Taking 2 hours to log out and go off duty. Log in the next day, 16 hours later, for it to tell me I have upcoming violations because it never legitimately logged me out. Get it together

Consistently logs me out while driving, says my session has expired, what good is an ELD that doesn’t show you your hours while you’re driving???

Not very accurate, backed vehicle up about 30 feet over the weekend and was flagged for speeding!! Eats up the battery on my phone 3 times faster than normal, mileage to and from work are inconsistent even though I drive the same route every day, camera beeps constantly showing pic of phone, cigarette, etc while driving is a distraction in itself. I have to double check everything,and most of the time I have to enter and verify mileage and trip logs twice before the data is recorded. I don’t trust this app what so ever,I get taxed on the information it records and I don’t trust it one bit.
