Google Voice gives you a phone number for calling, text messaging and voicemail. It works on smartphones and computers, and syncs across your devices so that you can use the app in the office, at home or on the go.
NOTE: Google Voice only works for personal Google Accounts in the US and Google Workspace accounts in select markets. Text messaging is not supported in all markets.

Get spam filtered automatically and block numbers you don't want to hear from. Manage your time with personalised settings for forwarding calls, text messages, and voicemail.
Backed up and searchable
Calls, text messages, and voicemails are stored and backed up to make it easy for you to search your history.

Google Voice provides advanced voicemail transcriptions that you can read in the app and/or have sent to your email.

Make international calls at competitive rates without paying extra for international minutes with your mobile operator

• Google Voice is currently only available in the US. Google Voice for Google Workspace users is available in selected countries. Check with your administrator for access.
• Calls made using Google Voice for iPhone can be placed through a Google Voice access number. All access number-based calls use the standard minutes from your mobile phone plan and may incur costs (e.g. when travelling internationally).

App lags / messages don’t show up
This application is a disappointment. Most messages sent from Google voice website are not reflected here. The notification count is overstating unread messages. I have the use the web version as this application is not keeping up
Love it
I really like this app. I used this app for my iPad. I like it becau I’m able to have another to use as like a “house phone”. Only thing that annoys me is the app randomly switches to mobile data and I have it on WiFi. Other than that great to use when your phone cuts off or your trying to catch your boyfriend/girlfriend in a lie!
App works very well. Two feature requests.
App works very well overall. Have been using for years and it’s smooth and bug-free. Two requests: 1. Ability to mark a text thread unread. 2. Texts should alert you more than once. Thanks!
I can’t even claim a number
Been trying to claim a number for a couple months now, I have a linked number, and have done everything required. Yet every time I try to claim a google number it always says “Something went wrong, please try again later”. So disappointed. I’d love to use a google voice number, if only I was able to
Something Went Wrong
Try again later. That is the pop up dialog box I get when trying to use the app. I've deleted the app then downloaded it again only to have the dialog box appear again. Any gremlins running in the background?

Linked once, would not assign number. Told to use someone else’s #? Forget it!
Unreliable
My account was suspended and now it’s been over a week and I haven’t heard back.

Would it be possible to add a mark unread feature?
App is slow and freezes
The app is terrible. It constantly freezes.
