Gottman Card Decks

This app has been very helpful in making my marriage a success.

I’m a therapist and I love using the Gottman method with my couples. This app is a great way for my couples to practice topics we talk about in session.

Authors John and Julie Gottman, PhDs, not only write excellent books. Here they have created a wonderful app for having fun and getting to know your partner/lover/friend. Anyone who desires a better understanding of the other person in their life will enjoy these thoughtful cards. The ease of an interactive, colorful app makes them a pleasure to use. Thank you, John and Julie, for helping us all to learn and grow together!

This is a great deck of cards. Once I figured out how best to use them, they’ve been helpful. I want to recommend adding in a way to make notes on each card. For now, I’m saving a screenshot and then entering the details in my diary. I would also like to see a section on how to make the other partner feel wanted.

These card decks have been so useful and helpful for my husband and I. We generally communicate pretty well but a lot of the questions really got us thinking and produced some great conversations that helped us connect in a fresh way. I really recommend this app, it walks you through all the decks and how to use them and the questions are great for any stage of a relationship.

Sometimes my mind goes blank on what to ask. My family wasn't the greatest at communicating or asking questions of each other besides the "How was your day?" ones and as an introvert I'm used to people talking at me. So, thinking up thoughtful questions to ask someone while on a date or in a relationship is difficult. These has been helpful to get a conversation going since new topics can easily crop up from what's mentioned.

This app has helped me so much in de-escalating conflicts with my partner. It’s also given me many great ideas for date nights, conversation starters, and “soft” start-ups. I have the mind of a Gottman wherever I go now!

I use it in a lot of settings to get to know people better.

Love these cards decks, however when using an iPad and especially in landscape mode, the longer question are often cut off and you can’t read the entire question. Also, it would be nice to have the card decks shuffle each time a deck is selected.
