Great service

Pickup is essentially useless due to the app randomly choosing to enter a doom loop of entering your zip code, selecting a store, and then being immediately prompted to again enter your zip and select a store. I imagine there’s something going on in the background - perhaps the store isn’t allowing pickup at that time, but for the love of all that is holy… inform the user! A simple pop up explaining why your chosen store is unavailable would be substantially better than this.

Quite possibly the worst app. When you try to choose a specific substitution, the results are so insanely random and won’t even show what you know literally exists. For instance if you type in watermelon when shopping you get all the results but if you add a watermelon to your cart and go to choose a replacement if sold out suddenly the store does not sell watermelon. Not sliced, not chunks nothing. Instead you’ll get random choices like asparagus or baby food. My order this morning I thought was missing items when in fact it did but only because for some reason the app added the items to a list instead of to my cart. So now I have to place ANOTHER order to get the items I needed. Oh and when you reserve a time for delivery, it’s not an actual reservation because suddenly in the middle of adding items to you cart you get a “that time slot is no longer available.” Take a lesson from Walmart and when a reservation time is chosen, give a notification of “we’ll hold this slot until X time” which is typically an hour. Beyond frustrating.

I have used this app for years and like many things about it. A couple things have started happening recently that are frustrating. Searched for “unbleached flour”. Got pancake mix, cornbread mix, blueberry muffin mix, and unsalted butter on the first page. I pulled up the ingredients for all three mixes, not one contained unbleached flour. I shop in the store and use the grocery list. There are way too many items still sorting into the “aisle may vary” category. I understood when the store had been reorganized but that was months ago.

I used the app to order online. It was fairly standard to order and set up substitutions. But I wanted to add one ONE single item AFTER I had placed my order. It was 2 hours before I was to pick up my order AND it said if I forgot something, I could add it. But nope, I could only add items from the purchased list I have already made. God forbid I should want to buy something else at the store that wasn’t on my already purchased list. On other grocery apps I have been able, for a time limit, been able to add an item to my order. But not here. Harris Teeter you can do better than this!

If you search for garlic you will get things flavored with garlic-not cloves, heads, or minced. If you search chicken broth you will get *fourteen* options for chicken Vienna sausages in broth (no actual chicken broth at all.) It is highly disappointing that there are reviews a year old complaining about this, but it’s still terrible.

Love that I can see what I previously purchased. This makes it easy for me to see if my staple items are on sale

App used to tell me if items were available in store AND give me the location. Helpful if you shop in different stores. But not anymore! I guess it’s back to first locating the never present employees on the floor, then waiting while they find the person that actually knows where things are. Sigh

It won’t let you select a time to pick it up which is required:(

5.28.2024 I have shopped using every grocery app in this area, and I have NEVER encountered a more cumbersome one than Harris Teeter’s. The search and filters are terrible. The search is never accurate. This is a stress giver. This is my second time downloading after deleting it in frustration before, so I’ve learned my lesson now.
