Since purchasing my ReMarkable 2, I’ve been searching for an elegant way to take my PDF highlights and export them to Heptabase. The solution didn’t seem to exist without significant technical debt — until now! I highlighted on my ReMarkable, snapped a quick photo, exported my highlights as Markdown, and dropped them into a card in Heptabase. Flawless and without needing to decipher the .rm file format, run Python scripts, etc. Brilliantly done!! 👏

The best tool for remembering what’s most important from your readings

I read in way too many formats and was looking for somewhere to keep quotes and honestly this ticks pretty much all the boxes! It’s super customizable and easy to use. Couple things: Super minor, but I wish you could change page # to location for certain books (kindle doesn’t always provide page numbers). And I would definitely pay to be able to back it up to a cloud. Edit: I’m not sure if I’m doing it wrong, but changing tag colours can be a bit of a pain, really minor though!

This is one app I wished for and I’m thankful for it. I would appreciate if I could also export highlights from ebooks I read from Apple Books app. Then it could be a serious contender to Readwise.
