Use
User interface face is clunky and not well designed. Could be a lot better. Very limited user functions for adding trails to find the trail head. Then let users completed it once they find it to give users a more completed list to choose from. Then they can fill out the maps 100% and hike it. Can’t minimize a trail from the bottom of the screen. Can’t go through a list, get more details without having to refind the list and to go back through again. Really frustrating app that could have a lot of potential
Potential
looks good, but idiotic synchronization for log-in. time for developer to realize it's the 1990's and there isn't a need to pop out of the app to a web interface to log-in. can't log in after multiple attempts. glad it's free...
Constantly crashes
Is currently unusable. I used to love this app, but now I can't use it at all! Please fix the bug!!!

Great app to find cool trails!
Could be great
I find this app unintuitive, missing lots of hikes, and the search is poor. You have to click on a photo of the area to get driving directions? If your search isn’t exact results are sparse The trail info and elevation details are good, some of the conditions data is helpful

I’ve been using& referring the hiking project app since I discovered it at work ( REI ) some 8 years ago. Since then I have used the app stateside and internationally on all of my adventures. I have used all trails, onX,Avenza ,Gaia & the ease of using the hiking project beats them all. Finest hiking app I’ve ever used.
Map to trailhead
Love this app. Everything about it is good. Specifically love the driving directions that take you all the way to the trailhead. Extremely helpful!
Bad update
Laggy interface, all saved maps were deleted when I “updated”, some UI is super boring now.
Used to be great, crashes constantly now
Used to by my go to hiking app! Now it crashes every time I open it. Re downloaded twice and still no luck. Developers are in bed with onX so they made this app unusable. You’re better off getting AllTrails or Trailforks
