Huion Keydial

I know this keydial had some issues on iPad at first, but it seems after a couple firmware updates it has been greatly improved! It is amazing being able to set hotkeys for all of my favorite drawing and painting apps! I am especially happy that the app provides support for Art Studio Pro. Great work Huion team! I really hope more people can try out this device.

I don’t understand the negative reviews. It works for me without any issues. Not only that, but I’ve tested it on my Android device, as well as my PC. And, yes, it’s very handy.

It’s originally a pain to get firmware to load and get the keypad into install mode with a computer. Once the software and everything is updated including firmware you can map out and program everything the iOS app works without hitch on my iPad Pro to modify or tweak key mappings for my project use case of the day for the price point of the key dial—— you can not come close to another macro keypad on market that is changeable through iOS iPadOS as well.

Stuck on the original bindings only, asks to repair each time you open the app.

Firmware update, had to repair, still not saving a basic Home key assignment.

Don’t know how the more recent viewer got it to work because I didn’t believe it at first. I had the same problems listed: The key bindings don’t save. You go to set the first one say it’s preset to K and you try to change it to Z and hit finish and go back to look at it and it still says K along with pairing and unpairing. The app is junk really unless you connect the key dial wired to a PC and update firmwear apparently. I think most people in the reviews skipped this step. Please remember to do the firmwear. The app is still questionable but if all goes smoothly I’ll update. Update: nope, the app (on iOS) is completely usless. If you’re using a key dial you better plug it into a PC or laptop that’s connected to your drawing tablet and use it that way. I’ve given up on this app entirely as everyone should.

The other reviews must’ve been from a previous version. It works like a charm. I can map all my favorite shortcuts and it doesn’t ask me to keep updating. The reason why my review ain’t a 5/5 though is the Keydial Mini has a button in the center of the dial you can press to cycle through Brush Size, Scrolling Up or Down, and Zooming In or Out and it works great on PC but I can’t seem to do that on here. You can change what the scroll wheel does but I was hoping I could use said button to cycle between those 3 but now it’s just an extra button.

Other reviewer had it right. I updated the firmware via Mac, still bombards me with engrish riddled firmware notifications, constantly tells me to forget and re-pair the device, and yes the buttons don't reassign. Waste of $50, filling out the return form now.

Plain and simple; Doesn’t Work. App will ask you to Forget the bluetooth device and re-pair it, every time the app is opened. Buttons do not reassign, and are stuck on their default assignment. App will constantly tell you to update the firmware of the keydial via a PC, even if your device is fully updated.
