Hydra ist fast wie Apollo for Reddit. Einige Dinge fehlen noch, z.B. kann man noch keinen Flair auswählen und daher nicht in bestimmten subs posten, die einen Flair voraussetzen, aber im Großen und Ganzen fühlt sich Hydra for Reddit wie Apollo for Reddit an. Der Entwickler hat auf GitHub bereits gesagt, dass er Flair Support bringen will, aber noch kein ETA genannt.
Update 14.08.2025: Laut Changelog sollen nun auch Flairs funktionieren. Getestet habe ich es noch nicht.

Hydra is super easy to set up and works right away without any complicated configuration. The user interface is clean, modern, and a joy to use. exactly what I looked for.
I really appreciate that updates come regularly, and that the app is actively maintained. The premium feature costs €2.99 per month, which I find totally fair. especially since it directly supports the developer. 5 Stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Except for an issue where images don't show up or go all wonky when you pinch and zoom, this app is very well fleshed out.
Slow as heck
This app is so slow to load content it’s stupid.
I can’t scroll for more than a minute without running into blank posts, and if I click to enlarge an image, half the time it never loads.
It’s cool and everything, but I’m personally fine with putting in my own API code, I just hate that I have to sideload to get an app that allows me to do it. Which I was using sideloaded Apollo for a good while until Alt-store decided to break and not allow me to renew…
Both the Main and TestFlight versions are slow for me…
Fantastic
After Apollo, I used OpenArtemis. It had problems and is abruptly gone. Hydra is fantastic. It’s so fast and responsive. My only wish is to be able to block specific subs.
Terrible app
Lacks many features found in other
Reddit apps. There’s maybe 5 settings you change in general so customization is non-existent.
You can view subreddit sidebars from what I could see, which is odd.
Overall felt like an early beta app. Very very minimal on features and a stripped down experience overall.
Excellent
This app is fast, responsive, and feels great to use. Here’s my one feature request: the option to disable “hide seen posts” within subreddits. I only want that feature active on my main Home view.
Best Reddit app ever
Really wanted to get rid of that news tab on my Reddit app. This is the best way to do it and it’s a great Reddit viewer. And free! My biggest issue is that it needs to update the feed more often. After I’ve seen much of my feed and then come back hours later it’s the same feed as before.
Massive potential
This has a ton of potential and is already a lot better than the official app. Apollo had some massive shoes to fill and this has me satisfied for now.
