Welcome to the new version of the Iarnród Éireann Irish Rail app.
Thank you for downloading or updating our mobile app. Following customer feedback this latest release features the option to start your ticket purchase from within the app. Once you have selected your passenger(s), train(s) and prices the app passes the booking over to our website to complete the transaction. Existing features include live train information and real-time train push alerts.

Words can hardly describe how incomprehensibly idiotic this app is
Fairly well designed app all in all User friendly smooth and few bugs Great for planning journeys One small problem… IT DOESN’T DO THE ONLY THING THAT IT’S SUPPOSED TO Why on earth would you go to all the trouble to make an app for planning rail journeys and not include the ability to BUY THE TICKETS How someone managed to pitch this app is beyond me.
Pointless
Why have an app where you cannot purchase a ticket ?!
App shuts down
Everytime I search the train from one destination to another the app shuts down, wonder whats wrong, my iphone is xr
Absolutely useless
Why do an app and not have user acess & purchase ability? We have the same info on web. Doesn’t worth downloading.
Useless
You fill in all the relevant information and hit the purchase ticket button and it directs you to the website where you have to start again from scratch.
Not leading the way
This app is so basic, it really is a waste of the space it takes on your device. No ability to purchase tickets or seat selection. When looking at live train information, it doesn’t even state how many carriages are for each train. You could be one end of the platform and a 4 carriage Dart arrives meaning you have to make your way up the platform and squeeze in to the last carriage. Needs a complete overhaul and redevelopment.
Like the dart this app is terribly run by idiots
How on earth does the app input the wrong time the dart leaves at. The app said the dart would leave at 30 past but when I got to the station at 27 past the dart had just left. Normally I would put up with this level of incompetence and stupidity but I missed a dart to greystones and the excellent dart schedule had not scheduled another dart for 1 hour and 20 minutes.
Useless
Fine if all you want to do is see what train services are available. BUT… you can’t book tickets / can’t see existing bookings / can’t download tickets to app.
Complete and utter waste of time.
Can’t buy tickets, Can’t save tickets, Can’t log into account, You can’t even view fares. Don’t bother and just use google maps
