Response time is poor, refreshing is very slow and on many occasions the news articles don’t even open

This App was good in the past and worked well, but since October 2024, it does not seem to update the news as frequently and is quite slow.

I don’t know if Independent News Media have changed developers for this app, but the latest update has completely broken it. It starts up, but as soon as you click on anything, if you are not harassed with signup pop-ups, an ad takes over the screen and nothing else works. If you are lucky, you will occasionally get a message saying there has been an error with a button to try again. The button does nothing - it does not work. So all that one can do is quit the app and try again, and again, and again, and again… Sadly, there is no other option but to go back to using the IOL website. At least that still works.

Test the app before releasing! App causing phone (iPhone12) to over process, resulting in freezing, overheating & battery drain. Just deleted it! Read ur reviews & action!

Since introducing the new look and feel upgrades the service has been pathetic with delayed news updates (days late) and freezing frames.

New update has caused the app to be useless. It’s not working, news don’t update. Please revert back to the old one and quality test this one thoroughly if your goal is to really get news to people.

The app has too much advertising with at least an advert every paragraph. Remember it’s for news. Please give other readers an option to opt out of data consuming nonstop advertising

New app is glitchy. Specifically the sports, entertainment and motoring page are causing my phone to freeze.

Not an improvement, slow and sluggish 3.1.1

The newly released IOL app is slow, it does not open news from notifications, and the ability to use favourites is not available. Did you do a consumer review before release? I appreciate IOL news as it is up-to-date and the informative, but doubt I’ll be using it further with the new app.
