Good start, would love to see it develop
So I’ve had this app for a while now and while there are multiple things going well for it, there are some basic functions that someone with an iPad almost expect with art apps. First, the pros: this is fun. It’s a simple app and gets straight to the point. Colors come made with different values which help when making shadows for shapes (something that’s really convenient.) Cons: A big thing that’s missing at the moment is an option for touch rejection when using an Apple Pencil. Even for times I’d like to use my fingers to paint, zooming in and out makes marks in the page that become a constant pain to deal with. Along those same lines, switching tools is pretty unintuitive at the moment. If there is a mistake I have to tap the eraser tool, erase, then tap the color tool (as there is no specific “draw” tool) then repick the color I was just using in order to continue coloring. Ideally being able to use the double tap feature of the Apple Pencil to change tools would be great but at the very least having a dedicated draw tool separate from the color picker would be a step forward at least. Next is the canvas size. There are pre made canvas size options which isn’t too much of a problem, but I did wish there were either bigger canvas options or an option that allows the user to make cushion canvas sizes. Below is a list of currently missing basic features I’m hopeful will be added soon: Fill bucket tool Layers Brush (including changing brush size) Changing eraser size Select tool Resizing selection Layer effects (multiply, add, overlay, etc…) I bought the full version to show support to the indie developer and showing that I really believe this app could be a good and useful app with a little more time. An app I really am excited to see continue being worked on and developed. P.S. The app stated the paid version unlocked bigger canvas sizes but as far as I could tell I didn’t get anything over 64x64 after paying for it. That’s was a slight bummer as well :/
