Review of the iSurvey app We almost cut his app at the cost stage. While the app for inputting survey entries is free and there is a free trial, the real cost for a month’s use is a bit over $NZ100. It should be noted, perhaps, that you are not so much buying the app or your survey, but rather renting it. You pay per survey for it to be available for a prescribed amount of time. Once we reconciled our budgetary problems for the project we very much trialling an app and at the same time trying to get some really valid data from students. We had an initial glitch in that we paid for the survey expecting to then create it, but in fact we were purchasing the test survey we had created under the free trial. Unfortunately for us, purchasing a survey locks down its content and we were unable to edit our rough trial survey. However, the support from the iSurvey team in this instance was superb and within the hour we had been provided with a voucher code to purchase our ‘real’ survey and had been provided with an honest and in-depth explanation why the surveys are locked down when purchased. We were very impressed with this response. The demonstration accompanying the app is clear and self-explanatory. Setting up a survey is incredibly straight forward and the site’s help resources were plentiful. There was sufficient range in question types to meet all our purposes. We were able to use a Likert scale but also able to use text and numeric inputs. The survey is easy to brand and we appreciated that the survey tool allowed us to do this. The way that the app caches survey results on the device, requiring the user to choose to upload survey results was a boon for us. We were delivering the survey in an environment with an unreliable wifi infrastructure, so to be able to upload the results in batches meant we weren’t at the whim of the availability of the network to complete each survey entry. This also means that when delivering the survey – which was to hundreds of students in a short space of time – there is no unnecessary wait time between each respondent as the data is uploaded. We were able to power through participants and upload the data when breaks in the traffic and wifi accessibility allowed. The interface was really clear and easy to navigate. We used a combination of iPod Touches and iPads to administer the questions. Participants reported it was easy to read and interpret, even in bright sunshine. I use this for my job, and it works wonderfully. It’s got some nice time saving features- the ability to swipe back and forward between questions, and the ability to select an answer from a drop down list using just a few letters. I’ve never had any problems with this app.

I have been using this program for 3+ years without issue. However there is a glitch when users are taking survey on iOS device. If asking for email the program does does record answer when user hits “done” instead of next. Even if question is required user skips q and program does not record answer. There is NO way to contact anyone from this company making it impossible to get any assistance.

I have been using these app to run several surveys for our clients. It’s incredibly easy to use and the fact that the field team can use their own phones its even better. Not just that but costumer service is fantastic. Highly recommended. Easy to use and affordable, best option out there by far!

This app was great! Easy to create a survey, easy to use, and the product looked great. I used this for the second time for a class project and could not be happier. Once again I needed something students could use without wifi and then upload data later. No problems at all with the survey or with uploading/downloading data. The response from users was amazing too... many asked about the app and commented about how easy it was and fun too! Once again Tech support was amazing! They remembered me from 4 years ago and provided the same great support. A huge thank you for all of the support! Highly recommend this app....does everything it says it does and does it very, very well! Looking forward to using it again and again!
