I am thoroughly impressed with Katalyst, a fitness app that truly delivers on its promises. Unlike many other products in this category that often overpromise and underdeliver, Katalyst stands out by providing an exceptional user experience. One of the key highlights of this app is its 20-minute workouts, which are not only highly effective but also easily adjustable to suit your current energy levels. The setup process for the suit may require a session or two to get accustomed to, but once you've got the hang of it, it takes just a couple of minutes to get ready for your workout. I wholeheartedly recommend Katalyst to anyone looking for a (supplemental) top-notch fitness solution. However, there are a few areas where the app could be further enhanced: 1. Workout Progress Tracking: When engaged in a workout series, it would be beneficial to have a progress check mark or indicator to easily identify which workouts have already been completed. 2. Cross-Device Synchronization: Currently, the Apple Watch app only functions when the workout is initiated or displayed from the iPhone. As an iPad user, I would greatly appreciate the ability to sync workouts between devices. It would be fantastic if the iPhone app could mirror the iPad's workout session without playing the video, allowing iPad users to access Apple Watch controls seamlessly. 3. Emergency Off Function: During the final minutes of some workouts, the intensity can reach quite high levels, which is generally a positive aspect. However, implementing a simple "emergency off" function would be a valuable addition, particularly in cases where users experience severe cramping or other health concerns that require an immediate stop. 4. Calorie Burn Synchronization: Integrating an approximate calorie burn calculation that syncs with Apple Health would be a welcome feature. This would provide users with a more comprehensive overview of their fitness progress and help them track their overall calorie expenditure. Despite these potential improvements, Katalyst remains an outstanding fitness app that delivers highly effective workouts in a compact and adjustable format. Its user-friendly interface and efficient workout structure make it a top choice for anyone seeking to enhance their fitness routine. In conclusion, I highly recommend giving Katalyst a try. With its impressive features and potential for further enhancements, this app is poised to revolutionize the way we approach our daily workouts.
Katalyst is made it so much easier to work out in 20 minutes. I’m done. I am a business owner, mom, housewife and everything else and sometimes I get too busy or just too tired to work out. Now I have zero excuses and this thing actually works. Yes it does feel like I’m cheating because it’s only 20 minutes, but if you’re doing it right, you’re sweating like crazy and getting the most efficient workout. I feel more firm and because of that I eat less so I think I’ve lost weight since I started the Katalyst. I guess it goes back to the more muscles. You have the more calories you burn. And Katalyst has helped me with keeping my muscle tone.
Addendum to review below. Since the latest app updates, my workout history is not saving. Katalyst is quite the exercise hack. In 20 minutes, you get a full body workout that you can feel for days. The trainers are very professional and keep things moving. App suggestion: please make it so we can save our favorite workouts
Really great overall. Would love to be able to see a goal: lose weight, gain strength, run further, etc, and it picks workouts and sets a schedule. And something where I can track those goals overtime.
I had my Katalyst for about 2 years now and it comes with me wherever I travel. As a fitness junky, I know I will get a great workout no matter where I am. Lower body and glute workouts are the best!!!
The app is frustrating in a few areas. You can’t save your favorite workouts. So you need to scroll through dozens of videos to find your favorites. Also, why can’t you pause the program to adjust the intensity levels and muscle groups rather than being forced to do this while the program progresses? Being forced to make all adjustments while the electric impulse surges through your muscles every 4 seconds is not ideal. And unless I’ve missed it, I can’t seem to figure out how to set the overall intensity level BEFORE the workout starts. I’m having to hit the “+” button over and over to raise the starting intensity from single digits to triple digits. The workout itself however is 5 stars.
This has checked so many boxes for my workout goals. In addition to my existing lifting regimen, I’ve started doing twice weekly Katalyst workouts and it has unlocked progress that would’ve taken me months or years. My knee and shoulder pain have gone away and I’m able to leverage these EMS workouts to push myself without added injury risk. The App had way more variety and capabilities then I expected. Overall, I have been very impressed and pleased with the results.
If you have limited time, this is the best workout you will find anywhere. This is where high-tech meets high intensity. I’ve done every kind of workout hack this is, by far, the best.
I have worked out most of my adult life. But injuries over the years have made me decrease the intensity and consistency of my workouts. To add to the herniated disc in my neck, the back pain from pulled muscles (30 years ago!), and knee pain; recently found out I have a partially torn rotator cuff. These problems have caused periods where I didn’t or couldn’t push through the pain. Now I’m 62 and losing muscle mass so maintaining my strength, conditioning and my shape (let’s face it; that is still important) is really hard. With the Katalyst, I’ve gotten intense workouts in just 20 minutes with no residual joint pain. I follow up with cardio. I feel the same muscle soreness as I did with strength training. And after 2 weeks, I’m starting to see toning in my mid section; an area I was really beginning to struggle with. It took me a few workouts to figure out my best intensity level. I know it’s early; but I am really pleased with my purchase and the results so far. I especially like how easily I can travel with it, which I do quite often with my job.
