I have relied on this app for years and I loved it, but whatever you’ve done recently broke CarPlay… it now only works if it’s the focused app on the screen. The minute you shift to another app (like maps, it’s being used in the car!) it goes silent after a few seconds. Please fix it!

But AirPlay hasn’t been working for a couple weeks and cuts off quickly

I’ve loved this app for years and am sorry it’s taken this long to review it. It’s continued to improve over the years and I’m really impressed at this point with both the stability and offerings. The live options are fantastic and the addition of Dierdre O’Donoghue’s archives is a gift. It’s the greatest time capsule left to us by a huge driver of our college, independent, local & left of the dial radio and music scene from a half decade ago. There is also a huge library of their shows and podcasts, though I use it almost entirely for live music.

This app has not been working through CarPlay in my 2020 Toyota forerunner for two years now. If you fix the app, feel free to call me for a new membership pledge.

Sept 2024 Recently, a previous bug returned that would cause the stream to keep playing on the phone speakers after putting away my earbuds. The app also seems to be draining battery at a far faster rate than usual. ______ 1. With the update to iOS 17, whenever I put away my earbuds the app will resume playing music from my phone speakers. This is particularly obnoxious in an office environment, but also such a basic issue that should not occur. 2. If the live radio is paused it will frequently not resume playing unless you restart the app completely. 3. The app will not recognize my Spotify premium account. It could be due to my account being part of a Duo Premium subscription. I have more issues, but these are currently the biggest ones. I cannot keep using the app if the first issue is not resolved.

I love this station more than words can explain. I've had a solid mostly positive experience with the app over the last couple of years, but recently I'm getting long gaps and seemed to lose connectivity. It's not happening on other streaming apps, so I'm pretty sure it's just KCRW. Anyway, I wanted to share and hope the issue improves. Love you guys.

Great content. Yes the ads are annoying (there should be a mode to disable ads if you area donating member !) But the worst by far is reading these entitled-ahh reviews. You people need to come back down to earth and find gratitude. Thanks, KCRW

Times out after 15 seconds on live, eclectic and Metropolis replays. Since I live in another city this is my only access so will not donate again if I can’t listen. Still love y’all though!

I’m really considering giving it four stars, but because KCRW is such a wonderful station and we need to support our local radio stations more than ever five stars

The app's News stream is randomly unavailable and no fix, warning, or update is offered. Deleting and reinstalling app does NOT work.
