I find it hard, but still did every puzzle without help. Maybe I need to revisit every level for them for educational purposes
Great app, hours and hours of curated individual, special puzzles to learn from that get gradually harder with loads of puzzles on the really very hard end of the spectrum. One of my favourite discoveries which I don’t find with any other killer siding puzzles is the realisation that each puzzle has an angle, a thing it is trying to teach you, a technique or an attitude towards solving the puzzles. The interface is very well thought out too.
Love love love the CTC puzzles, but there seems to be a bug with this one where the timer suddenly jumps up 100’s of minutes! Please fix!
This puzzle is an absolute work of art.
My favourite form of sudoku, so was really looking forward to CTC version. Great puzzles! But: - navigation between screens is (like the other CTC apps) counter-intuitive at first - typos in some hints (e.g. 26) - several unexplained leaps in hint logic (e.g. Puzzle 18 last hint) - undo/redo history lost if you go out of a game to the settings and back into it again - some themes fail to show when a number has been completed. Oh, and no sign of more puzzles needed to get to having 100 available by the end of the first year.
The puzzles are interesting and creative, but some of the hints have typos and make complete lot unexplained leaps of logic. The interface is also a bit clumsy and could do with some polish. If you can overlook these flaws however, the underlying puzzles are solid.
I love watching the CTC YouTube channel so have just bought this and completed several puzzles. There are 2 major issues that need resolving: 1) I would like to be able to look at the calc / allowed combinations screen at the same time as looking and completing the puzzle. To do this I’d like there to be an option to reduce the size of the floating calc/combinations screen AND be able to drag it anywhere on the screen so it’s not in the way of the part of the puzzle I’m focusing on 2) I would like the option in the settings that the small numbers I type into a given cell are displayed in the order I type them. So for instance if I type 5142 I would like to see 5142 and not 1245 Otherwise excellent. But these 2 issues mean I can’t enjoy this app until this is resolved. So currently waste of £4.99. I will change this review and star rating if these are both fixed. Thank you
Love Killer sudokus. The app interface is really good, though a few more colors for the cells wouldn’t harm. Some of the constructions are amazing, but a few (notably some CTC ones) require bifurcation to solve, which is a bit frustrating. Even the hints indicate this.
I need to start by saying the Killer is my favourite sudoku puzzle type. But the Killer creates the biggest readability challenges, and the app doesn't yet meet the challenge. For those with less than perfect eyesight, even on an ipad it can be difficult to tell apart corner notes from the cage numbers. In landscape mode the grid is smaller than it needs to be: please use some of the spare space to enlarge it. The overlay of the hints, and the additional combination screen in portrait mode is problematic too ... with no ability to move it, it normally obscures the part of the grid you're trying to work on. The navigation between menus in this and the other games in the series is also pretty odd. I'm used to it now, but at first I got confused trying to get back to play the game. As others have said there are also typos, and not all of the controls are explained well to start with.
I’m about half way through the app and really loving it, but there are quite a lot of typos and mistakes in the hints that really should have been picked up by a basic proof read.
