Good, but there's a long way to go
I love the fact that there's an app focused on Indian languages. I've been trying to learn Hindi and Tamil for quite a while, and I got pretty excited when I found about this app. The intention is good. Nonetheless, there're still some major issues that keep me from using the app completely as a reliable source for learning. They are: 1. No script. I understand that it mainly focuses on spoken language, but it's necessary to learn the scripts or at least the way of writing the words. If you want to keep using the romanized version, no problem! There could be a Devanagri version and a romanized version on the bottom, for example. 2. The exercises are too buggy sometimes. The words are written differentely (hence why the text in the original alphabet/abugida is necessary), the response time is messed up sometimes and the audio is missing in some of them. 3. The videos don't really add anything new. Don't get me wrong, I love that you guys are working on adding videos. It tells something very good about you. But, in reality, the videos don't really add something we could use to help on our learning. For example, we have a lesson about the pronouns, we read and listen to the pronouns, do the lesson and then we have a video saying the same we just learned and listened before. Videos could be a source for learning tips or grammar explanations. 4. The "fill conversation" exercises. I'm sorry, but those are probably the least good part of the app. Not because the idea itself is bad, but the performance is failing. Too much vocabulary and no grammar explanation of what we're saying. The audio is delayed sometimes, the mixing between English and the language doesn't help (i know it's pretty common in India, but it's not effective to mix them while learning). I like the idea, but it really needs to be polished. Still, this app's premise is amazing and I really believe you're gonna get better and better with time. Keep up the good work guys!
