LeapFrog Baby Care+

This is my second device and it has the same problem as the first. It will not record motion - which I feel is the major, if only benefit of having the “smart” feature. When this happened with my first camera, as it just randomly stopped working, I was told to return for a replacement. But the replacement has done exactly the same thing. I’m glad I held out before doing a review, as with the feature working the camera is brilliant, but just another not-smart camera without this feature for us. Bitterly disappointed. I would avoid!

Been using this 9 months now and I have some frustrations - 1080p never working, I just get the error ‘couldn’t save settings’ - playback for recorded movement clips rarely works, very inconsistent and maybe one clip will load and then it says ‘failed to load’, so it feels pointless recording the movements.

My toddler as some how ended up climbing out of his cot… no problems right as the camera would have recorded it? Nope it did not another fail from this monitor. The monitor is For £100 it truly isn’t worth buying.

All my videos and pictures of my baby are gone since the recent update!!

Whilst I can’t fault the camera or functionality of the app itself when in use, I’ve just downloaded the update and it has wiped all of my photos and recordings held. Very disappointed as some of these were lovely memories. It has also taken away the option on the Home Screen to switch between night and day vision and the volume controls do not have stages as previously had.

The app is bad, the developers just need to enable Picture in Picture for Apple iPhones and tablets, so the mobile device is still useable and have the ability to monitor your child at the same time.

When the app is opened, it automatically unmutes my phone i.e. it increases the volume from 0 to 1, and it is not possible to mute while in the app (it keeps turning the volume back up to one). This is really annoying. Also, when you are playing white noise on the camera, it comes through on the app / monitor and you can’t hear anything else. In other words, if the camera is playing the white noise you can’t hear if your baby is crying or not. Plese make it filter the white noise out, you don’t need to / want to hear that on the phone.

I'm calling you out because I'm absolutely furious with this awful app. Why is it refusing to let me to turn off the volume? what a stupid feature, I want to be able to mute it if I'm near the camera to prevent the infinite sound loop. There is absolutely not a button on the live view screen to mute the audio. I've tried every button there.

Biggest bugbear, when you open the app on your phone it automatically opens with the sound really loud. You also can’t turn the sound off on the mobile app without muting on main console

This is the 3rd monitor i have had to buy from leapfrog/VTech and still doesnt do what it says it does. Motion detection not working properly, motion detection recordings do not play back ( says “file not found”) and now overall is just delayed despite the updates and many resets of both camera, parent unit and the app. After emailing i was advised to purchase a new monitor AGAIN but they could not help me any further. After already buying 3 monitors from here i will not be purchasing again
