Learn Icelandic For Beginners

Die App liest einem mit einer deutschen Computerstimme alles vor, das heißt man kann die Aussprache mit der App nicht lernen und dann hats leider keinen Sinn für mich.

the text to speech can't pronounce the icelandic characters so it says the letters in english which isn't helpful in learning the language at all. i paid $5 to remove the ads that pop up every 5 seconds. don't recommend

Every two minutes the app asks for a rating, there are constant adds, and the person saying words is a robot voice that h it am sure is butchering it. It called one of the characters “letter”

from the start i was looking at this app and i’m like this might be useful because im trying to go on a trip and have Icelandic down prior to going but even though i was thinking it was nice i knew something had to be wrong. i get this app to learn and this app can’t even provide. i was looking and i was like hey i kinda wanna know how to hear this word. i kept on clicking and i couldn’t figure it out so i just quit it deleted the app and the best thing i could think of doing was rating the app to inform people not to download it. the intention was good but the execution was not. do not buy this app if you are not fluent in Icelandic. 😁also i don’t wanna be interrupted by ads every 5 seconds. HOWEVER… for those still looking for a place to learn icelandic, go to drops. it’s free unless you want to get premium and you study 5 minutes per day. really useful and i’ve learned many words.

For me, drilling down on pronunciation basics would help me learn words so much better

Sometimes words are pronounced correctly and some are spelled. No alphabetic pronunciation given. Disappointing…

No sound

The worst of all was the letters, it doesn’t even say the letter. For example, instead of saying á or æ, it would say something much different. Something like a miniscule. Not the best for learning pronunciations.

This app is about 500 buttons with the correct text and spelling of Icelandic words and phrases, but when you press the button for pronunciation it is an ENGLISH text-to-speak. So its basically a book of a couple hundred Google translated sayings and no educational information. Not even pronunciation guides.

The audio is ridiculous and completely mispronounced almost every word lol I’ve downloaded several Icelandic learning apps this is BY FAR the worst one. I really hope no one is using off this app bc it pronounces words even the alphabet incorrectly great idea TERRIBLE application of it. Lagaðu hljóðið til að bera fram rétt ;) góðan daginn
