Listenable: Learn with Audio

This is a nice and comfortable way to learn something new every day. I really love this app 💕

Had to give up using this app - thought it was my phone and/or network, but have changed phone over the course of the subscription and ruled out both these things. App crashes part way through listening to a course or the course doesn’t start at all.

I’m a UK based reviewer. I downloaded listenable thinking some content would be free, with some paid for. Turns out the only free content is a trial. Fair enough, not for me thanks. But then listenable sent me an email with a deal on pricing but it was in US $, but when you go on the app the deal doesn’t appear in the UK. When I worked out the exchange rate, you pay more in the UK than the US it seems. Not gonna bother paying for content from people who ‘create’ lessons, when I’ve no idea if they know what they’re talking about. It doesn’t inspire confidence when one bio of these people says ‘I’m no expert, I just live to make peoples lives better’. Why would I pay to listen to people if they aren’t experts on their topics?

I love the concise lessons available in a wide range of courses. Whether I have 5 mins or an hour I can keep learning.

Listenable has been a great tool to add to my daily morning workout, I can train my muscle and train my brain at the same time!

This app is very misleading. It promises a seven day free trial of service, regardless if you take the monthly or yearly subscription plans. I opted for the monthly plan and my AMEX card was built in seconds. This is very dishonest and I would not recommend this app.

Very misleading - be careful.

I’ve been using the app for the best pet of half an hour and I can’t find any free content. Either all of it requires a paid subscription, or the app design is so poor that it doesn’t separate or make clear free cash vs content. I’m pretty annoyed that I’ve given over my data for a service I feel I’ve been misled into using.

Good short courses, nice to listen whilst commuting or between tasks
