This app doesn’t do any remote control or product related mode setting. It’s just an extension of the li.com website. Please make this app more relevant.
Before this app has any real use, you have to purchase a LOMI BLOOM (which, I gladly did). That’s where things get interesting. I think the user interface is fantastic! I like seeing my impact articulated from the pounds of food I don’t put into the landfill but goes into the LOMI. I like being able to see the status of my LOMI in the app. I like the idea of accumulating points based on using the LOMI, that’s a very thoughtful incentive. Redeeming points to get supplies for your LOMI is great, but also allowing points to be used with partners that are conscious of there impact on the world, is a fantastic idea, too. Sometimes when you make a purchase, it provides unforeseen benefits that you don’t see on the radar. The LOMI likes a diverse diet of food scraps to make better pre-compost or LOMI Earth. Seeing this at work, I found myself wanting to diversify my diet and make healthier choices for myself and my family, and keeping this LOMI making happy plant food. You put good in and get good out, is seen with every LOMI bucket you empty that has a had a well balanced feed of scraps. I also didn’t know it would make me want to grow more of my own food, but I somehow feel compelled to do so. I feel a little guilty not doing so. Creating my own little self sustaining circle, in my back yard is a nice way to put things in perspective. Next, house plants. We find ourselves wanting to fill our house with them, and we’ve never been those people with green thumbs, but we find ourselves trying to use LOMI Earth, any place we can. Lastly, I pay more attention to nature around me. I look around at the plants on my property to see which ones could use some extra nourishment. I didn’t see that coming. I’m sure there is a domino effect that will create new uses I have yet to discover. This is some of the best trickle down effects from a product, I think I’ve ever seen. Certainly better than the treadmill gathering dust in my garage but that’s on me. Keep up the good work!
Because of Lomi, I recycle for real. It’s so much easier to dispose of items properly.
After using the Lomi app, I’m left wondering about a few things that seem like missed opportunities for such a technologically connected device. Firstly, the main feature of the app appears to be tracking how much I have composted, but I find myself asking: what is the real value of this? While understanding my environmental impact might be motivating, the app could be so much more useful. The device is connected to the internet, yet surprisingly, it lacks basic interactive features. I’m unable to change settings, select different composting types, or even turn the device on or off through the app. This seems like a fundamental feature that should be available in a smart device connected to an app. The promise of turning food waste into rewards is appealing, and I appreciate the idea of earning points through various interactions like running cycles, referrals, and subscriptions. However, the actual execution feels superficial when the app doesn’t provide substantial control or customization of the composting process itself. Furthermore, while the app promises easy access to information and support for any questions about the device, I found this to be minimal and not as intuitive as I had hoped. For an app connected to such an innovative device, I expected more direct control and interactive features. In conclusion, while the concept of the Lomi device and app is forward-thinking and aligns with sustainable practices, the app itself needs significant improvements. Adding features to control the device remotely and customize the composting settings would make it much more practical and user-friendly.
My expectations were too high. I just bought a Lomi and assumed that the app would be useful. Particulary, since the machine has wifi, I expected to be able to control it and even program the start time of a processing cycle. Nope. It does nothing but transmit your usage to the company, and offer a bunch of ads to get you to spend more $$. IOW, the app is basically useless.
I just love this product!! Being a gardener and having great dirt is a major plus!!! But the best part is not wasting any more food!!! Unfortunately, we tend to waste a lot of food but not any more!!! Putting our food back into the ground is an incredible feeling!!
Our whole family loves it!!
I have really enjoyed my Bloom. I eat more vegetables just so I have more scraps and can use my machine. It works great and I do a load almost every day!
Literally just downloaded the app but when I launch the app I'm greeted by a message: "A Lomi app update is here. Please visit the app store to update." There is nothing to update from the app store -- moreover it is a first time download so it should've pulled/downloaded the latest version. What a disappointment.
