Its going to take awhile to see if Lumen helps me get healthier but just knowing how foods affect my fat burning is a great start.
The beginning was hard to understand how to get into fat burn. After 2 weeks learning the correct foods to eat I saw my fat burn go to 65%. Don’t get discouraged keep trying.
I feel better and am sleeping better already - in a week! I was already somewhat fit and I exercise every day. Lumen is a great tool for accountability and balance in your diet. I am never hungry. I lost 5 pounds in a week and weight loss was not even one of my primary goals. I feel strong and more in control of my health.
I have researched the Lumen device, watched many YouTube reviews and ordered my device with excitement. When my device arrived it was very easy to create an account and watch videos demonstrating how to inhale/exhale for the device to take a measurement. Due to an injury suffered in 2016 I have limited lung capacity and have worked with a pulmonologist to increase my lung capacity and decrease my chronic cough. During set up of the lumen device, I discovered I was unable to exhale for the minimum 6 seconds required for the device to take a measurement. The customer experience representatives were supportive and provided tips to help with inhalation and exhalation. They avoided my request to return the device for refund. Only when making many more frustrating attempts (and they are able to see that attempts are made but too short) I again requested assistance to return the device. I was told their policy does not allow for returns. Until Lumen technologies makes adjustments to allow a shortened inhalation/exhalation duration to make a correct measurement I WOULD RECOMMEND future customers practice inhaling deeply for 4 seconds, hold that breath for 10 seconds and then exhale for 6-7 seconds BEFORE opening and setting up the lumen device. Learn from my costly and frustrating mistake. I cannot fully utilize the device and app because I cannot exhale long enough to complete setup for the lumen device.
Love all the data but curious how to get my fitness pal to work with the lumen app so that I don’t have reload my food / meals recipes into a new app. It also does not seem to be using my Fitbit information on my monthly cycle. Would love for these apps to talk to each other easier.
I am learning how and when my body burns fat and carbs. Only been doing this for a week and hoping it takes me to my weight loss goals by following the program. Since I have started following the menu program I have not been hungry once.
I love having a plan @ measurable goals. If it gets measured, it gets done & Lumen is the best tool I have found to aid in “hacking” my metabolism now that I’m almost 50.
Really helpful to get real time data on how your metabolism is doing and get customized macros. My body felt better the first week.
I tried it almost a year ago for a few days and decided it wasn’t working. Since then I’ve started intermittent fasting. Decided to give it another try. Clicked on test after fasting f(19 hour fast) and it said I was in fat burning stage 2 which means 75% fat is being burned. I felt I should have been in fat stage 1 considering how long ago I ate but whatever. I decided to workout and it says to do it 30 minutes before exercise so after waiting about 10 minutes (you’re not supposed to do back to back readings) I tried again only this time I clicked on before workout instead of after fasting and it said I’m at fat burning stage 5 which is 25% fat 75% carbs. Now there was only ten minutes between these readings and I still haven’t eaten a thing and haven’t for 19 HOURS. There are no carbs left in me. How do I go from mostly fat burning to mostly carb burning in 10 minutes. I call bull. Don’t waste your money.
