In Mafia Moles, players plays as the FBI as they try and crack down on mafia activity. As an FBI agent, it is your task to ensure that each sting operation is successfully carried out. Moles will attempt to sabotage each mission by tipping off the mafia. The Informant working for the FBI has identified who the moles are but must be careful not to be discovered by the Hitman. If the Hitman identifies the informant, it’s light out for him and the FBI!
Each player uses their phone to learn about their role, place votes, and execute missions.
Secret Identities:
A secret identity determines what team the player is on (mafia or FBI), what information they have access to, and possibly some special actions they can perform.
FBI:
Informant: The Informant knows who all the mafia members are (except the Cugine). If the Informant is discovered at the end of the game by the Hitman then he is executed and the FBI loses the game.
Profiler: The Profiler sees both the Informant and the Imposter but doesn’t know which one is which.
Mafia Members:
Moles: The Moles are working for the mafia and have infiltrated the FBI. Their only job is to sabotage the sting operations and try to remain undetected by the rest of the FBI.
Imposter: The Imposter confuses the Profiler as to who the real Informant is since the Profiler sees both of them.
Hitman: The Hitman has one chance to guess who the Informant is or who the Profiler is at the end of the game. If correct, the mafia win the game.
Cugine: The Cugine is hidden from the informant.
Wannabe: The Wannabe is hidden from the rest of the mafia members.
5-6 Players: 2 mafia
7-9 Players: 3 mafia
10-12 Players: 4 mafia
13-15 Players: 5 mafia
16-20 Players: 6 mafia
Mafia Moles is strongly based on the extremely popular game of Avalon, The Resistance. Avalon came out years ago and took the mafia scene by storm showing mafia players how it was superior since everyone gets to play the entire game. Avalon is based on a medieval fantasy theme, whereas Mafia Moles sticks with the more traditional mafia and FBI concept. If you like Avalon, you will really love Mafia Moles. Don't have to worry about dying in the first round of a brand new game.
