Hi. Casual magic the gathering life long player. Spell slingers brought me back , but mtg arena is too hardcore. I’m not interested in any of wizards other products or games. I want a casual game I can play for 15 mins and my friends can casually enjoy too. If they remove this game, I will not be back, nor will i have incentive to bring others back in the future. All that time in beta just to quit. Wizards of the coast should give their head a shake. Who cares?

I feel like it’s an attempt at Magic-lite, which is nice. It’s quick-paced and feels more dynamic like Hearthstone but it feels like it lost what makes it Magic. It’s very hero-focused, but it’s gated so you’ve got to unlock them one by one, not fun when a game locks all the toys behind a wall. Also in the early games I’ve played, I didn’t have to play a lane, I just get mana each turn. Which I guess is fine, but something I noticed. Some of the text needs time to read. It’s shorter than Magic cards but more complex than Marvel Snap, so you’ve always got to go back and read it since the on-screen action isn’t as obvious. The app’s loading art doesn’t match the in-game style either, I would prefer incredibly 2D illustration art than lower resolution 3D models. A nice and forgettable exploration by WotC but maybe I’ll go back to Magic Arena or Marvel Snap.

Broken game. Developers are not taking time to play test. Each update has had big mistakes in card and game development. This is just war with big creatures, if u like magic just play arena and don’t waste your time or money.
*Updated (after 3 weeks) *The game is unbalanced at some point and I got three types of annoying players: - the one who’s playing with Gutfire Devil card and abuse of it - the one who’s playing with Jace and don’t fight, just drawing cards to empty their deck and win - the VERY slow player to get you concede the game Overall the game is fun and well made. You can call it: Magic of Heartstone. One thing I don’t like is the annoying loading bar between battles. Probably changing it by a smooth slow rotating icon could be less epileptic ;)
It’s like a 3-minute game of mtg. A bit laggy but overall really good.
