App will not open, crashes and shutdown.
This didn’t work for dry fire but it works with my CoolFire Fine except range commands are no longer working for some reason.
Picks up steel target as shots. Good for cardboard targets in open air, when in woods the surroundings make it less accurate as it pics up Echo and cracks more often, Picking up supersonic crack as shot.
I’ve been using this for over 4 years now and had very good success with this shot timer app. I have used professional shot timers for longer and still end up using this more than the others. It’s not perfect, windy days you’ll get some weird feedback and some extra shots that were not there. I run the sensitivity all the way down to 1% and still get ghost shots from time to time. I’ll also pick up the bolt on an AR dropping after a reload occasionally. But overall, it’s definitely worth the $10 vs the $50-100+ ones that the pros use if you aren’t willing to dump that much on a shot timer. One more thing to add is the fact that I can go back years to look at what I was shooting and at what speed. I’d appreciate an update to polish it up a bit after 3 years since the last one, but at this point I’m happy it’s still running and works.
When it didn’t work with the Lite version I should have trusted my gut. Instead I wrongly guessed the paid version might... since iPhone X has no headphone jack it’s not compatible even though the App Store says it is...
Worked great when I was shooting by myself at a private outdoor range with live ammo. Don’t even bother using the app for dry Fire, I turned sensitivity all the way up, no luck. Placed my phone on a table and dry fired over it, no luck. Put my phone on a chair, on top of the table so my pistol was about 2” away from iphone microphone after drawing and firing directly over phone. No luck. Pretty disappointed as this was the feature I was most looking forward to. Oh well.
I tried to reach out to the developer and have not gotten a response back. Works great for Dry Fire. I’d give it 5 stars if this would work with Bluetooth Headphones so I can practice without waking up the rest of the house.
Pros -simple to operate -has delay for practice alone -adjustable sensitivity for live or dry practice -it works Cons -the phone has to be within 2-3 feet of the pistol when “fired” during dry practice. So I hung my phone off of a tall lamp. Bottom line -It is an inexpensive shot timer that has worked very well. Also I have only used it with the phone microphone. The sensitivity was at 50% for the live fire, and 100% for dry practice.
I like the app overall, but it was way too sensitive. I was shooting outdoors, nobody else in the range, and set it to 1% sensitivity. Every shot recorded was followed a fraction of a second later by a second phantom shot. I don't know if this was picking up the noise of the case dropping or the slide cycling or echo or what. There's no way I could use it at an indoor range.
