Masterbuilt Classic

Don’t bother with any of the masterbuilt apps they are all absolute rubbish! Consistently cannot connect to your smoker, recipes are pretty limited and missing some of the most basic of recipes for smoking meat. I absolute love my masterbuilt but I despise any of their so called supporting apps. Honestly it’s 2022 these apps seems like they are from 1992 👎🏻

Been using this app for a while now, unlike the other Masterbuilt app I can set the temperature

Ok-ish to get setup but once running, works perfectly. Turn on the bbq, open the app and it connects. The temp sensors work well and reliably. Overall pretty good

The 40 digital charcoal smoker is great The app however needs some work, it would be handy to have alerts go off when the app is in the background, for overnight cooks it’s impossible to get alerts unless your phone is unlocked and the app is running.

Love the bbq but the app needs work. Wifi instead of Bluetooth would be an improvement. If your phone moves out of Bluetooth range the app stops monitoring and needs to be reconnected. This might be ok for grilling but completely useless for smoking. Who stays within a few meters of the smoker in a long smoke? I need something that will alert me when I’m away from the bbq if the temperature is too high / low or if the bbq has stopped working.

First off love the product. The flavour is amazing on the 560. Here’s a couple of things with the app that would really set it off, in order of importance… - BBQ Probes - goal temps & alerts only go off when the app is open. Need to have it work so that alerts, loud alerts, go off when the app is in the background. This is essential for overnight cooks or when you’re entertaining. - allow the user to select notification tones that cannot be missed. Current alert tone is ok, but doesn’t work when app minimised or phone is locked - startup mode - this grill needs to heat up to burn clean then back off the temp. Would be good to see that option to set it to 350f or so for a bit before going back to 225-250 - name the probes - nice to have I can see you’re still working on the app so it’s promising.

The idea of this app is fantastic, and when it works it’s great however the glitch of the smoker shutting down half way through a cook NEEDS to be addressed. It’s not good enough for the smoker to shut down without warning half way through a cook. Please fix this ASAP!

Horrible app that never works. No support from Masterbuilt, email or phone. I’ll never buy their product again. I follow instructions to get the phone app out of safe mode but it never works. This whole thing is an abject failure.

No ability to set alarm or notification for probe temp, just ability to monitor. Shows that I can set the temp and time from my phone but it doesn’t work properly- just errors to last set temp and says “temp reached!” immediately. All these function fine from the control panel on the smoker. I’ll be returning this smoker ASAP- 90% because of this app. Garbage is being nice.

Spotty connection issues even after pairing with device, also the connection warning needs to be moved. If I just want to view temperature I need to connect to the device every time or the “connection” warning is in the way. Move the connection warning to the bottom of the Paige when viewing a device so you can Atleast see temperature even if you can’t control the device remotely.
