Masterforce™ Inspection Camera

Updated review: this app does work, but only if you allow it to access tour location. Apparently it uses the WiFi SSID to decide which type of camera it is connecting to. Once it can do that, it will flip the correct one green (from grey) and you can tap it to open. It would be nice if this was explained somewhere, instead of just silently failing. Not specifically related to the app, but the tool in general … this thing is an exercise in frustration. It resets its wifi connection every minute or so, freezing your view until you can reconnect your phone. So just as you've gotten to something you were trying to look at, you'll lose your grip and have to redetermine camera rotation and get back to that same place, hopefully before the wifi resets again.

Unfortunately, this app is the only way to use the Masterforce scope purchased from Menards. Half of the time it works okay but the app crashes constantly. For basic viewing it generally works as expected but once you want record or export that recording to your camera roll...it crashes. The devs could easily fix this bug with updates but this app hardly ever receives updated. I wish Menards would take a little more pride in their product.

Upon downloading this app and connecting to the WiFi signal coming from the MX1021, I proceeded to open the app to see what’s on the camera. It does nothing when selecting MX1021. It says the app was updated a year ago. I find this somewhat appalling considering they still sell the product as if the app works. I did however find an app that will work with the MX1021 listed under ‘WiFi Endoscope’ with a similar looking icon. Just hit play within the app and your feed should appear.

The app has two WiFI Video Scopes, I bought the MX1021. It works very well and very handy recording video to show my customers.
