How do i start writing ?
All I see are a few cards on the landing page. One says remote keyboard the other says guide the other says settings. How do I start a new file? Are we in jokester land??

Works well on GoodNotes, though for longer expressions, the preview gets really small, which makes it tough to see if what got rendered matches what I intended to write. Unless I’m missing some way to enlarge the preview, some way or setting to adjust the preview size would be nice.
As a retired Math instructor, I believe that nothing comes close to handwritten math when it comes to really communicating and working on mathematical ideas. I have tried several pieces of software that convert handwritten math to images and latex code, and they all seem to be getting better, with the advent of AI. But Mathkey is , in my mind , the best: I really like the big writing canvas which allows for long mathematical expressions, the transcription is instant, and usually very accurate, the simplicity of the interface is also welcome. The affordability of the app is also a great plus. I am not quite sure how to improve it, except to continue working on handwriting recognition (sometimes one has to handwrite the equation two or three times before the handwriting is correctly recognized). Another idea is integration with a free computational engine such as Wolfram Alpha. One , can, of course, copy and paste the latex code into Wolfram Alpha, but it would be nice if a "button" existed in Mathkey, which would directly submit the code to Wolfram Alpha, right away. Such an online app did use to exist: it was called Web Equation, but it has now been discontinued. Perhaps it was buggy, but, I believe it is worth experimenting with the idea. However, the app. is already fantastic, as it is.
Followed the setup instructions but it keeps asking for a code to connect to a remote computer. Is totally non-functional.
How the heck do I actually use this app to convert handwriting on my ipad to latex code? I find the guide to be useless! Did my $7.5 just go down the drain?
My goal was to find something that could transform handwritten mathematical equations into text/images. This app does, in fact, accomplish this. However, when the variable involves multiple subscripts, the app fails to recognize this and places a single value instead. Seeing as I was using the geodesic equation to test the limits, I can understand the issue and would not have any qualms about it if the app allowed me the chance to correct the situation. Since I can’t see what the text value converts to, it’s difficult to know if something has to be fixed. Furthermore, when converting it into an image, the written equation vanishes, leaving you to rewrite it blindly which ends up resulting in the same problems. This means I have to edit the image on a separate app which defeats the purpose in my opinion. There also seems to be certain elements it has trouble with converting to image, such as angstrom. A solution would be to have the written equation remain after copying it so that you can adjust accordingly. This would also help the issue of not being able to see what the text result would produce (unless you are fluent in LaTex or MathML). That being said, I find myself reverting back to using word on a computer instead of being able to use my iPad which makes this a waste of $8. If there was also an option of a math keyboard with the ability to type mathematical symbols (like Greek letters, subscripts, etc…) I would feel the price was worth it. Hopefully my $8 will assist in getting this app up to the standards I expected for future use.
I’ve tried converting the x^2 into an image as the guide suggested, but the app says that they are “generating” the image and always fails to do so. : ( need help
Not functional
Just bought it and it does not work with goodnotes. Keyboard does not open in good notes. I pad air and good notes 6 very disappointed.
The developer does not divulge that what you write is send to severs to be converted. That sounds scary to me. I bout it thinking it is an editor that convert hand writing but the app doesn’t do the work and rather the hand writing is sent to a host. Very scary. In theory it can steel your information. If it does it or not, I don’t know. But the concept sounds scary.
