Mela - Recipe Manager

This is the best app I’ve ever seen. If I didn’t already have an iPad I’d go out and buy one just to use this in the kitchen. It integrates perfectly into your Apple eco system; reminders, calendar, widgets, syncing across all devices. The attention to detail is very satisfying; focused cooking mode, multiple timers by tapping on the text in your recepie, ticking off ingredients as you cook, meal planning, a to-do/cook list, loading recipes straight off of websites, the timer even sound like one off those old school metal kitchen timers when it goes off. Money can buy happiness, buy the app.

but could use some improved functionality, such as being able to sort/filter groceries by meal. At the moment say you’ve added three meals, but decided to remove one, you’d have to individually deselect and figure out what’s what. So really it’s easier to remove ALL items and just go and add from the recipes again. Fantastic app and I recommend all the time.

I have been using this app for YEARS and I LOVE IT have NEVER HAD ANY ISSUES have been THRILLED by how good it is and truly AMAZED by the reasonableness of a well-priced one time purchase. A GODLY APP. I was using it just now and recommending it to my friends as I did so and realised the least it deserved was a review on here. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR TURNING COOKING INTO A JOYOUS EXPERIENCE FOR ME, MELA!!!!

I have used Paprika and others, but Mela is by and far the best recipe app in the app stores across iOS, iPadOS and macOS. Beautiful interface, as you would expect from the developer of Reeder, and the ability to import recipes from photos, websites etc. is next level. My partner and I share the same synced recipe book and love what Mela has done for how we organise what we eat!

Great app. Well thought and has the right balance of features and simplicity.

Great app but it desperately needs quick access to search function rather than having to manually scroll back to the top of the list. We have several hundred recipes so is currently a very painful process!

I love how mela lets me find, read and save recipes without having to scroll through the some random food blogger’s entire life story interspersed with hundreds of buggy ads. Just wish it would automatically convert units when it extracts recipes !

Mela does a really great job at importing and organising recipes, plus makes a shopping list easy. I would love to see a simple meal planner added, to help organise the week.

I don’t often leave reviews but this app is AMAZING!! I used Paprika for years but always felt the interface was somewhat dated and I thought the MacOS cost was a little too high. The cost of Mela is really reasonable and the functionality is amazing.
