Memento: Group Videos & Albums

This is a great idea in principle, but in practice it’s caused a nightmare. Even though the app recognises the exif data of photos (so the date, time and location they were taken) and allows the group to organise the memento folder according to when the photos were taken, the second you download them to your device this data is completely wiped, meaning you’ll have to enter all the dates and times in manually if you want them to appear in the order they were taken and on the right date. I wish I’d known this before our group uploaded 350 photos to share. They’re now either stuck in the Memento app or I’ll have to spend hours sorting out the mess in my photos app. I therefore recommend you avoid this app until they actually make it do what people need it to do when photos are shared. This is a huge bug that isn’t mentioned anywhere on the app or website. I contacted the creators who said they are aware it’s an issue and apologised. They should make this explicitly obvious on their app and website to avoid others having to face the same disappointment as we have until it’s rectified.

Why can’t the app open. I’ve reinstalled so many times it just loads and nothing happens. I’ve got videos stored on there for a birthday compilation too.

Rubbish app. Despite creating an account you can’t even get past the login page as it just comes up with a ridiculous “Whoops” response. Save your time and data! Don’t bother!

Unfortunately, I tried to upload a video four different times and each time it stopped at 99% uploading. I was trying to film something for my grandson and well it doesn’t matter what I was trying to film. I made each video shorter and shorter until it was just 30 seconds. There’s no reason why it should take 45 minutes to upload and then stall at 99% . 🤷‍♀️ now I better be able to cancel it so you don’t keep charging me

I’m extremely disappointed, I do not recommend this App! I used VidHugs in 2020, it was free & great. So I decided to used it again. When I clicked the link I was redirected to Mementos- figured it would be the same - it wasn’t. I paid the over priced subscription- to get the premium benefits. The experience? Let’s just say I sent the link to 30 people- over 40 people attempted to load videos & after several attempts they gave up. I’m showing 238 views and 10 successful loads. I had people send me their videos, to upload for them, since they were frustrated. The application fails to upload videos - over 20sec long. It’s extremely slow. After 30 minutes it times out on larger videos. There is no online help or customer service. THIS IS A MONEY GRAB! My video was a BUST and the 65th birthdays” group video fir my sister was a failure. I have one day, now and a party to plan. SMH I will request a refund.

It seems a little expensive for the pro membership but realistically, it was by far the easiest way to send invitations and have the editing done for you. Super special gift and I guarantee most people who don’t use this app, won’t end up making the video they’re looking to create.

I contributed to video to a group. When the host was done compiling, she sent a link to the video and it would not play at all. Not impressed at all.
