MetroLand - Endless Runner

Doesn’t bring anything particularly unique to the endless runner genre, but still enjoyable to play. I would say more so than Subway Surfers which it has clearly copied. At the time of writing, though, the game hasn’t been updated in over a year and once you’ve maxed out all power boosts, etc, the only thing left to do is the daily tasks. These, though, are always the same with no variation and no real challenge, so the desire to play does reduce quite a bit.

I really love this game! It’s much more fun than subway surfers.

Plays well, looks pretty good - there’s been a fair bit of talent poured into this. & yet I’m just not sure what it brings to the Temple Run genre that’s new.

Copy’s subways surfers whole game direction and rips it off, only thing different it the art style, if you are going to get this: don’t. Get the original subway surfers instead, don’t support non original creators. I wouldn’t be mad if they added some cool new features but they didn’t. Again, just get subway surfers, you are guaranteed to get a long life of the game and support original devs

Title says it all in all honesty. Admittedly the game doesn’t reinvent the wheel as far as endless runners are concerned, but I’ve found it to be incredibly enjoyable, much more than subway surfers and other runners I’ve played. The futuristic setting, the design of the environment and characters… it all just works well. The one thing I found this game does well is how it makes use of speed. With power ups like the speed juice that purposely drastically increases your speed but to make use of it’s full potential, you still need to avoid obstacles at these top speeds. But setting power ups up to one side, the base game by itself becomes really challenging (yet not impossible) in long distance runs, with moving obstacles and small platforms (in areas like rooftops) becoming much more difficult to get past at high speeds. But once you do get past them, it feels super satisfying. Energy meter is something I’ve NEVER been hindered by in this game. I don’t plan on playing this game for hours on end everyday so 10 energy is fine, I’ve managed to complete my daily missions and open all of the daily crates easily with less than 10 runs, trust me if I can do it, you can do it too ^_^. A gripe I have with this game is with some of the camera angles. Sometimes the camera angles obscure what’s lying ahead making it extremely difficult to react to obstacles. There have been times where I’ve jumped on top of those wide black trucks, but whilst dropping down I’ve been hit my smaller black cars that I just couldn’t see because it was in my blind spot, this is a tad unfair but still bearable. In conclusion, this game satisfies all of my endless runner needs. Nice graphics, challenging at high speeds, something to do everyday. Really hope they continue adding new content as there isn’t much right now (which is fair because it’s a new game). More characters, more power ups, ways to hack more than 1 vault at a time, more bots, more areas, all of the obvious stuff really. Looking forward to the future this game has!
