MetroSMART Ride

This tracker, Wi-Fi, car diagnostic scanner and roadside assistance plug in is awesome. I love it. It let’s me know when my vehicle has a disturbance, when my vehicle starts, where my vehicle is located and where it’s been. It also shows me where nearby gas stations are and my battery voltage and sooooo much more. I love it and will be purchasing another one whenever my children grow up and have vehicles of their own.

Loses stored info and resets saved profiles. App needs to upgrade features to allow saving and exporting data and a restore from memory ability. May a hardware/software upgrade to allow memory card or cloud storage.

Starting a week ago this app has been spamming me several times a day with notifications about low fuel. These notifications advertise gas stations in the area. My gas tank usually runs above 50% so the notifications are misleading. Worst of all, there is no way to opt out of these notifications. Shame on Metro for polluting a subscription-based app with noisy, worthless ads.

Metro Smart Ride is absolutely great! It tells you if anything is going wrong with your vehicles engine. It tracked your car everywhere it goes via live tracking gps. You can track your car in real-time all the time. It logs every trip. You get a notification when your vehicle starts and when your vehicle is disturbed (someone opens your car doors but does not start the car). You also get a notification if there are any issues with your engine. It will give you the code for whatever is wrong. Metro Smart Ride is the best thing since fried chicken. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

Works great for me

I purchased 16 of the metroSMART Ride over four different accounts for my business. I purchased these in 2019. Over the years they’ve had a few glitches but for the most part they’ve done what they’re supposed to do. This morning I woke up and logged on to my account and my account was wiped clean. I have 16 vehicles on the road all over the state and I have no idea where they are or where they’ve been. I called the local MetroPCS store. The associate that answered the phone could not help me and referred me to the manager. The manager could not help me. The manager told me to dial 611 and speak to Metro. I was on the phone for over an hour with a metro associate from 611 who tried to help me but could not. At the end of the conversation he told me that I would need to go into my local Metro Pcs store for assistance. The Metro Pcs store says they cannot assist me I have to call 611. In the meantime it’s been 12 1/2 hours and I have no idea where my 16 vehicles are. The whole purpose of the metroSMART Ride was to keep track of my vehicles. In the past I had an employee steal a vehicle and drive it 3200 miles away over the weekend, wreck the vehicle and I was clueless until the police from the county called to inform me my vehicle was involved in an accident. He called me the following Monday. I’m not sure if anybody else has had this experience but I am very frustrated and you can’t run a business like this. You have to be able to depend on the merchandise that you purchase. The merchandise you pay for every single month. And have for over four years.

Could be better

I have tried to videoconference using this device and I had a horrible connection. In addition, I took a trip from Texas to/from Ohio and I had difficulty tracking my progress. I do not know why bandwidth is very slow because it uses the same cellular data connection. I also had transmission trouble codes on my vehicle which this device did not detect.

Wifi is terrible

The app is telling me I completed the trip from Tuesday on Thursday. Please update ASAP
