Momatu: Family Photo Album

I love the idea of this app, but the last update didn’t really work for me, preferred how it was before when you could comment on a picture. Also will not upload videos anymore and really struggles to upload my pictures now too. Gets frustrating

I love Momatu and hate it all at the same time. Concept is fantastic and my family have engaged with it so thumbs up there. But the technology has lots of issues that my family are now disengaging with it. First of all the videos and pictures take a long time to upload, notifications doesn’t work consistently so people do not know when you’ve posted something even if their notifications settings are switched to ‘on’. Now my family are missing key moments of my sons life. My main bug bare is sometimes the app just doesn’t work my child’s aunt stopped using the app due to frustration of the app not working. Very sketchy. Before you get your whole family onto Momatu and upload pictures and videos remember the user experience is very poor maybe go with another provider. I’m now frantically looking for somewhere else to host all of these amazing memories and move away from what is the most frustrating and poorly functioning app that I’ve ever come across. Like I said it’s a love hate relationship.

Amazing app, super easy to use and great way to see the friends and family

Highly recommend this app for all Parents! I’ve been using Momatu for a few months now.. and gee do I wish I had it when I had my first child 3 years ago. It is such a fabulous and beautiful way to keep your family's special memories together, in one intuitive and functional platform. The app is ever-changing and always improving. My Husband even contributes to our family photo stream- this alone is mindblowing 🤯😂

This is a great app for creating my family life story and bringing my mom and dad closer to their grandchildren. They also love this app as it’s super easy to use even considering they are non English speakers. Thank you Momatu 🙏🏻

I never write reviews for an app, however, the fall from grace for this app is nothing short of sensational. It is such a disappointment to see how a useful, well-designed and purposeful app has turned into something completely different. Where once it used to be a digital scrapbook for childhood memories (and therefore provided something unique), it now competes with other common social media platforms such as Viber, Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp, etc. The current version is not a brainwave but rather, regrettably, a brain explosion.

Used to love this app to stay in touch with family in lockdown but the addition of the “home chat” function ruined what was great about the app which is people being able to comment on individual photos. The chat function makes it hard for anyone to comment on the photos you have to just comment on a whole up load. We have heaps of other avenues to “chat” - this app was great for being a virtual photo album- now it’s a disaster.

I’m really happy how easy it is to connect and share moments with my family overseas, and my mum loves this app as it keeps our family close in these difficult times 🙏🏻. Thank you Momatu for bringing us closer together 💕

Hi team, The recently released mandatory update changes a lot - I’m sure we’ll come to love some of the new features. However it appears to have wiped all prior journals - we had used journals to capture and share our bub’s key milestones. Is there a way to retrieve them and add this feature back please?
