Nice radio

With the recent iOS 17.4.1 update the MPR app returns to its previous frequent crashing. Another chapter in the frustrating history of a terrible app. I originally wrote this review for the last iOS update. Nothing has changed. Like a broken record.

This app has one job- stream MPR content. It’s amazing how often it’s unable to do that. The stream cuts out, freezes, cuts ahead, sometimes the app itself crashes. Not to mention how often it randomly inserts ads on top of the stream, meaning you just completely miss out on a couple minutes of news or music. Laughably buggy, consistently irritating.

Currently I can’t use the app at all. The stream stops as soon as I open another app or when the phone goes to screen saver. Only started that in the last week or so. iOS 17.4.1

I love staying connected to Minnesota when traveling and the MPR app lets me do this, but not consistently. It will simply stop streaming as long as several hours. I thought at first it was poor cell service but have discovered that other streaming apps still work including other public radio apps. Its reliability is much better closer to home. I wish they would fix this as I love the app otherwise!

Stops streaming about once every five minutes. I don’t understand why this can’t be fixed, considering that I can stream TV news (KSTP) with no interruptions, and that includes video! Incidentally, Wisconsin Public Radio app is just as bad. Same technology?

Please update this app. It’s not reliable.

I have the latest iOS 17.0.3 and the app no longer loads. It hangs on a white screen. It does work on an iPhone 11 with a larger screen.

Previously, I could continue to listen to MPR while opening other apps. Now, as soon as I exit out of MPR, the stream stops.

I have deleted and redownloaded this app multiple time and it still does not work. Phone is updated on my end but nothing makes this app load. Once opened it goes to a white screen and just sits there. So frustrating. I need my MPR! It’s been months!
