Awesome iPad Multitrack Music Recording App!
I have used MultiTrackStudio (MTS) for ipad over several years now and feel it is simply the best multitrack recording software available for home studio, professional-quality music recording. Even in its stand-alone basic version it is awesome. When linked to AUDIOSHARE and AUDIOBUS apps it creates a completely powerful, but user friendly digital audio workstation with enormous storage and organizational capacity. I put away my old Cakewalk/PC and GarageBand/ipad recording programs. MTS for ipad simply blew them all away, was much easier to use, and was very inexpensive. Perhaps its strongest feature is its developer, Geil Bremmers, who maintains an MTS user forum to quickly and personally address user questions, problems and or reports of software bugs. He also posts songs created with his App. The available high sampling rates and quality bitrates provide better than CD quality music, and the app works flawlessly with both lossless audio files and full MIDI implementation (with excellent available on-board optional instruments for playback). The Pro Extension version provides unlimited track access, multiple additional effect options, and additional MIDI playback instruments. The MTS features are too extensive to review herein. I have effectively retired my 8-track Fostex multitrack tape recording system as MTS blows it away in terms of sound quality, ease of operation, and amazing versatility. I compose, perform and record with musicians from all across the USA, most of which send me their own tracks (in .wav, .m4a, .mp3, etc formats) from either professional studios or their own complex recording software. I can do a quicker and better job of mixing their tracts down in my iPad using MTS then they can with their higher end PC or Mac programs. The MTS on-board master compression and limiter functions quite simply rival pro studios in quality, allowing me to quickly edit, mix down and provide my colleagues with multitrack stereo demo’s having CD quality, for free. Blow off Garage Band, Auria and Cubasis and move onto MultiTrackStudio….you will be very glad you did. Dr. K.
