Why not wifi?
I seem to be in the minority on this one :) Am i missing something or can the ‘Smart’ Centurion Systems range not work with wifi? As far as i can see the only way to connect to your centurion garage is to do so either via bluetooth, or by installing a gsm device, for which you have to pay - both for the device (+-R3000) and the mobile network usage. If you’re using bluetooth you have to be in close proximity to the garage for it to work, close enough to actually see the garage, so why would one want to load a bluetooth app to check whether your garage is open? You can just look at it. As for paying for a gsm device and service, why? Most smart home users have wifi, and can check and manage the status of their cameras, security, electricity, water, geysers etc. from anywhere in the world, because these device connect to their wifi. There’s no need to pay for anything extra. I’m genuinely interested - is wifi in the development pipeline, or is there a technical reason for this? Thank you
