Love the App, Enjoy the Deck
To be fair, I love most of the Fool’s Dog Tarot Apps that I have, and I have several. For some, I have the physical decks, and others, I just want to experience the decks digitally. I was drawn to the Renaissance artwork style of the Mystical Tarot, and have really enjoyed using it. The drawbacks as I see them are such: 1) the interpretations of the cards are a bit more subtle than that of traditional Rider-Waite style cards, but there is also a little additional layering of meaning that I do appreciate; and 2) the guidebook is quite sparse and limited with respect to card meanings. A good familiarity with the Rider-Waite Tarot is therefore recommended before using this deck. The app allows you to choose whether you want to read reversed cards. However, no reversed meanings are given within the guidebook. Those are really the only negatives I’ve experienced. I very much enjoy the free form spread options, the ease with which you can study cards under “Explore”, and as I mentioned, I really love looking at these cards. As always, the Journal feature is extremely helpful when reviewing prior pulls or periods, as well as providing a nice means of transfer into a digital journal or workbook, if you keep one of those.
