Nebo - Boat Logging Made Easy.

Fab app when we moved aboard a boat 18 months ago, came to use it again in the last few weeks (April 2024) and the app has lost most of its features, such as the ability to share journeys, download journeys, even view your journeys once made, (because clicking upon the voyage only momentarily shows a map) then closes to another screen. Whilst I appreciate some features are now ‘subscription only’ the fact it “glitches out” when trying to view a journey, completely puts me off subscribing anyway. Such a good resource for boaters has now become almost, I might even say, useless

My app won’t download location or maps since yesterday’s update can you help?

I have been using Nebo now for a year or so and I really like it, it emails you details of your trip when you stop and again monthly with a summary of said months trips. I would give it 5 stars but for one thing, there are no nautical charts associated with the app, if there were it would be perfect 😊

I tried this app out recently sailing from Ireland to Wales. It is easy to use, simple tap and go It records your days sailing and emails a record with map and log of position and speed along the route Very useful for record keeping Also allows you to invite friends and family to follow your journey, upload photos and send messages Would be great for a large group, Flotilla or sailing club Would recommend

I found with other boating apps that I would forget to input data in real time so I was left with writing up details well after the event. Nebo solves this nicely. I feel it needs some facility for user memo input. For example I have a checklist for “on leaving my boat” which this app doesn’t appear to accommodate.

Nice app. I like the functionality but it seems to be fully automatic logging. I’ve only used it on three trips and can’t see how you can log your own comments and observations - if you could do that I’d give it full marks.

We were introduced to this app whilst on a flotilla sailing holiday in Croatia. It was so easy to use, just started the journey each day and then ended it when we moored up for the night. We could track where we were at all times (as well as where other boats in our flotilla were) and it gave accurate views of the harbours & marinas which made it really easy navigating our way in at the end of the day. When we came home I realised we could print off an our daily maps and details of each days sailing, which included hrs if sailing, wind speeds, nautical miles covered and much more. I even gave a weekly summary. I would definitely recommend this app for accuracy and ease of use.

I had checked out Nebo a few years ago - but tried again and it’s definitely improving. Sharing a track of my journey has worked out great.

The app has constantly provided the location of vessels I follow. Additionally, the search function provides an efficient way to locate any boat by name.

Would also be a lot better if you could zoom and zoom out on friends trips and locations. The maps are so zoomed in I can't tell where they are. I end up going on google maps and typing in the name of the nearest town but that won't work if they are out in the middle of the ocean.
