Еще один фикальный наброс на вентилятор.....
Very disappointing to find this app so unhelpful, confusing and only showing the March issue. 2 months out of date! No information about the difference between 1. One’s ACTUAL subscription account with the magazine and 2. Creating an account in this app that will somehow allow one to view the TNR mag across “devices”? Something one can do quite easily by logging into to the TNR page and signing in using one’s said subscription account. This seems like a deliberate attempt to confuse people into paying again to read TNR mag in this app?? Very worrying! Also the latest issue available is the May2020 issue online. But March 2020 is the latest one available here in the App, despite the fact that when you are at the aforementioned “ create an account...across other devices” page as already mentioned. There is a picture of the 3 latest editions. MAY, March, APRIL. Which quite frankly only seems to suggest and add to the idea that one needs to pay an(other) subscription to read the latest editions in this TNR APP. If this is not deliberate obfuscation? Then why are the April and May editions not available through this App right now? Yet can be read by any bona fide subscriber, such as myself, using any device that can connect to the WWW & the TNR page - and has a reasonable sized screen???? This seems more like the sort of deliberate muddling The Dirty Digger Murdoch and his filthy employees on Fox News would do? The exact opposite of what the The New Republic is and has always been known for. I am very disturbed and confused by this. I would be most grateful if could please explain these apparent anomalies. And also why one this app is 2 issues out of date? Thank you in anticipation of your help.
The app is straightforward, functional and provides content in a clear understandable way.
Good reporting!!
I wish I had time to rad new republic cover to cover ..well it takes me longer just type out a message this electronic invasion than it does to read an article in the NR. And still not enough time And not enough room To store all the old books and magazines I want to keep as references, reread or finish. My grandparents had room to keep all the old telephones, victrolas saddles, spoons… their attic and barn hold a 250 year history
Could some competent person fix the technical stupidities of the mobile app over there at New Republic Tower? When I’m reading an article, _I prefer to keep reading the article_ instead of having the app reload, forcing me to search for what and where I was reading. Not every frickin’ update calls for an app reload. Also, I _read_ a magazine so I’d prefer not to see displayed a video option at all, whether I want it or not. Also, maybe TNR needs the revenue from all the crappy ads, but do the ads need to disrupt the functionality of the site by causing (you guessed it) gratuitous reloads? I speak as an online subscriber to TNR, and as someone whose phone has more than half of its storage/memory free for applications to work.
I am new to The New Republic. I regularly read other politically focussed magazines whose articles go on and on far beyond what’s necessary to make their point. Thus far, the articles I have read in The New Republic are thoughtful, informative and mercifully short. THANK YOU.
I wish this app had a built-in reader so I could listen to the articles as I commute.
Paid for subscription online. App confirms subscription. Does not download or open. Works on Firefox online. Try New Republic. Their app works
