instead of putting their OSTs on streaming services (like pretty much every other video game publisher) Nintendo decided to create their own app which is essentially a one to one recreation of YouTube Music that you have to pay for their online service to use. not only that but they don’t credit any of the people who actually created the music, so i highly doubt they are being paid their fair share in royalties. the UI is terrible and the thumbnail photos seem unprofessional and messy. Nintendo in recent years has been incredibly anti-consumer, using protection of their brand image as an excuse and this app is no different. i’m incredibly underwhelmed with the quality and for a billion dollar corporation who most definitely have the resources to make a better app or license their music to streaming services, especially when they are taking down the only other means of listening to their soundtracks. do better.

The app takes a long time to respond to taps. There's no credits. The library is tiny. But what's there is lovely.

Where is the Super Metroid OST?

Seeing Metroid Prime soundtracks at my fingertips wherever I wanted them, whenever I wanted them… what a dream. If only it weren’t too good to be true, because for some reason ALL the tracks that should be extendable (Crashed Ship, Phendrana Drifts, and many more), don’t support it, and the only ones that do are the jarring boss battle tracks, that I don’t want to have to listen to longer than it takes to actually beat the boss. Why would you offer such a feature to users when it can’t be fully utilized? I hope this gets rectified in the future
