NIOSH Sound Level Meter

Almost Nothing to complain about and is entirely free so much better then the other decibel apps that probably aren’t that accurate compared to this and you can always recalibrate if it is off

It measures the noise level, registers it and saves it. Is there a way to “replay” the sound or the noise itself? I can’t use two apps at the same time, noise meter and recorder. Help please

Une petite amélioration serait de permettre l’enregistrement des sons sur l’appareil et peut-être une petite interface graphique plus bonbon, mais elle offre l’essentiel sans ces artifices.

Since this update. Stopping showing the large numbers during reading. Both on iPhone 11 and iPhone 7 pro. Please fix. Seems to also stick in recording when upside down. All these are new bugs.

Really like this app and the fact it’s free and not full of garbage. One challenge is that for some reason my TWA, dose and projected dose metrics never populate. Is there a method or trick required to get these to work?

This app is great for us here measuring elevated musical effects, but running from a phone is difficult. Any (absolutely ANY) calls, phone setting adjustments or probably heavy breathing, and it will stop recording and won’t be able to continue. This would be great if it could operate while the phone is locked.

A great app from a reputable source, with functions to collate measurements over time. A minor problem with multitasking under iOS 13.3: Before switching to another app, make sure you close SLM; otherwise it may freeze when you come back to it.

Using the app on my iPhone 8 and am able to easily measure and record ambient noises as well as very noisy equipment when they need to operate. The information helps in educating employees on the use of personal protective equipment.

I teach in an occupational hygiene program and this is a great tool teaching and projects.
