Un rival digno
A la altura de Pocket y Readwise, Omnivore es un contendiente gratuito y de código libre. Hecho con amor por desarrolladores que no quieren canibalizar a sus usuarios poniendo características bajo suscripción. Funciona muy bien con Obsidian (KMS) Echo en falta un subrayador de textos en la web (como hace Readwise) y widgets para la homescreen, pero todo llegará. La aplicación de Mac parece ser la de iPad reescalada y se espera una mejor experiencia de usuario (menús, bloc de notas más accesibles..) En cualquier caso estas mejoras solo la convertirán en la app definitiva; ya compite con las grandes.
En curso, pero con buenos mimbres
Quedan detalles que se van puliendo poco a poco, pero es ya una gran alternativa a otras aplicaciones de pago (que no son precisamente baratas) e incluye además opciones “avanzadas” como texto a voz (también en español) o creación de grupos para compartir recomendaciones.

Headsup for anyone looking to download this app - yes it’s absolutely brilliant. Unfortunately they weren’t charging even a dollar, and they’re shutting it down. Absolutely gutted, loved loved loved this app.

I just started using Omnivore and really liked it; went to the website today and discovered they’re closing it down and you must get your stuff out by today!!
Best Read-It-Later App Getting Shut Down
Great app, but it’s getting shut down with barely any notice.
Best Reader! Don’t go away!
I’ve been a Pocket and presently, a Matter user. I’ve not been entirely satisfied with either of those. Recently, I came upon Omnivore and it has restored my faith in strong and smart software development hinging on delivering a solid user experience. I read an email where they said they were joining ElevenLabs. I wish they would maintain and continue developing this app, or at least retain most of the UI design and interactions while grafting the AI voices onto it. I don’t like the Eleven Labs user experience or interface design. It’s not as polished as Omnivore. Crossing my fingers.
I don’t know what’s going on, but I cannot use read aloud feature anymore
I used to like the read a lot of feature, but I could no longer use it I don’t know why
Lost its main feature—TTS
TTS doesn’t work anymore. No matter which voice I choose. Without its main feature, it’s useless. I might as well read my articles on my browser.
