Openvibe – Mastodon & Bluesky

On iPad, it would be nice to increase the timeline width, especially with a larger font size. Currently it’s the width of a phone, wasting considerable display. And inline images are letterboxed behind this width as well; a slider would be nice! Edit: in image share hitbox is impossible to hit on iPad too

Firstly, the app looks fantastic and I love being able to see and reply with my mastodon and bluesky accounts and I can’t wait to see where this app goes. That said, they keep promoting Threads integration on App Store pics and their site, and there are a couple places “coming soon,” but they have no control over that, jsut waiting on Threads. The integration is not a knock against Openvibe, but still having Threads advertised in pics and such is misleading. A couple features I would love to see: better bluesky video support(a couple accounts I follow on bluesky have empty posts on the app when they have video on the site), RSS support would be lovely(which they’ve mentioned is being planned), and a web app for desktop. All respect to the team at Openvibe who have been very reachable through various platforms and their vision!

When “the other site“ went kablooie, the different circles I was following scattered to the winds. This wonderful app now lets me pull them back together wherever they are.

May reinstall and rate higher when the app has a mode designed for larger tablet screens and landscape mode.

This app does what it says. The developer even took in some feedback and now I can use it properly on my smaller device. Problem: I can't control the responding audience on Bluesky. Without that I can't rate this higher. I know that's a complex issue, but if I'm turning off cross-posting, I should be able to control that. I'd even be willing to pay for the feature, but find a way to add it, please.

First off, seriously great experience. Makes me nostalgic for the days when we had one app to connect to all the different IM networks out there. Looks great and operates great, too. One hour of total on-screen time ate about 33% more battery than Safari. iPhone 15 Pro started to get warm after about 10-15 min. Also getting a little tired of the cryptobros on Nostr. Toggles for turning off individual services when there's no account would be great.

Love that this app can combine multiple fediverse timelines and I’m excited for Threads support eventually! However, after a couple of minutes using it, my iPhone 15 pro gets uncomfortably hot

I got the update that fixed the crashing issue when opening the app. So much better! I like everything so far, just needs an option for notifications so I can delete a couple apps from my phone.

Good looking app and is very stable. Only missing two quality-of-life improvements. 1. Remember my place in the timeline so I don’t have to scroll down and look for the last thing I remember seeing. 2. Implement tapping the top of the screen to scroll back to the top of the feed scroll.
