I needed a software for transcribing my thesis and my friend recommended me Otter. I couldn’t even imagine that it would work so well! It saves so much time and I can focus more on the analysis of my research data rather than to spend hours typing the transcripts on my own

Лучше всего из того что пробовал распознаёт английскую речь, удобно подсвечивает слова при воспроизведении речи. Лучше чем просто запись речи - это 100%-но!

Вносим ясность

Только английский, и 600 минут в месяц - далее требует платный акаунт.

it’s Magic: better than expected

I just wish I had before, it’s even more useful then I thought it would be initially. I am using to record my dreams! sometimes in the middle of the night I would lose a great idea because start writing takes to long, while recording with words what you just dream is much more natural then writing, for dreams, and I had bright ideas coming because I was saying instead of writing and could record a d have all that written right away. Thank you OTTER

Huge time saver

I recorded one hour conversation and I had to make very few corrections mainly due to the poor accent of one of the person. It’s a great tool!

Accuracy leaves much to be desired…

I have been using otter for a couple of years now and I am growing more and more disappointed in the accuracy of what it hears. Lately, if I use my phone to record, the desktop app only shows/makes available a portion of the recording which has been super frustrating. My latest issue was a 12 minute recording done off my phone, but the recording when I went to retrieve it from my desktop was only 3 minutes long. With all the advances in AI you’d think this would be more accurate. Especially since I’m using the paid version. Smh…

Decent tool but deceptive practices

I enjoyed using otter ai as I was able to document and review meetings and summarize key points and deliverables. My issue arose when otter automatically charged me for 2 additional user account when it was unclear that innocently inviting co workers to view transcripts would trigger this charge. To be fair otter does tell you they will charge you for added users. However there is a lack of transparency to this fact. It is incredibly easy to invite extra users with a single click while the information that you will be charged was buried deep in the policy descriptions. Furthermore the essentially non-existent otter support team dragged their feet on reimbursing me. It took multiple follow-ups on my end and much frustration at lack of available support until I was reimbursed. I suppose I should be happy they payed me back at all. Overall I would recommend looking for another AI transcription tool as this unpleasant experience left a bad taste in my mouth. Just look at other reviews… the general impression of otter ai is that of a shady organization drooling at the mouth over your personal data and subscription payments.
