OXENFREE: Netflix Edition

I really liked the overall audio-visual experience with this game. Also the story was super exciting. I found the lore a bit too complicated: it was tricky to follow the story as there was so much happening, and also because the conversations literally got tangled with each other.

I wanted to loooove this game because it was so intriguing. I love Telltale games, where you get to choose the course of events, and i loved e.g. the game Limbo, and Oxenfree visually and storywise reminded me of that game. So i was super excited to try this game out. Fact is, that Oxenfree is visually stunning, audio/music/voices were great, and the mood of the game is very captivating. I liked the characters and the weird but interesting storyline. There were no delays, glitches, or chrashes, and the game runs beautifully with an ipad. but there were a couple of things that bummed me out. First of all, as i said, i played with an ipad, and i found moving the character around a bit clumsy. I felt like the character moved too quickly and rest of the screen couldn't follow. Tapping to a certain place in a road was the only semi-reasonable way to move around, i din't use the swiping method at all - i got irritated after trying a couple of times in the beginning of the game. Second and biggest thing was the conversations. I was upset because during a conversation, when the other characters speak, every time i chose a speech bubble in order to make a side comment or give an anwer (too early i suppose) to someone, making the choise to speak instantly interrupts the conversation and the other characters don't finish their sentence. E.g., someone is telling a story, the speech bubbles appear and you choose to make a side comment (e.g. ”Oh really?”): you tap the speech bubble, and your character instantly start to speak - but the person telling the story gets interrupted and not finish the sentence/their story. And if you wait until the speech bubbles start to fade away (when it is sort of an optimal time to choose what to say next), half the time I was a nanosecond too late on tapping the screen, and ended up not choosing anything - and not contributing anything to the ongoing conversation. The problems with these conversations felt like reading a book that has only half sentences, and you're left with half a story at the end. Speaking of the end - that was the third let-down for me. I think the answer to the mystery and the key how to escape the island (don't want to reveal too much) was wayyyyyy too meaningless. I could not believe when the credits appeared… ”wait, what? That was it???” As i said, i wanted to love this… but sadly, i ended up with a slight letdown.

Am in love with this game!! I love how good the graphics are and how the characters where design. There where some glitches on the game that made me had to restart the game not from the beginning but from where the game automatically saved itself so it was kinda annoying to start from where it got saved cuz I had to do everything all over again… for example Alex glitches sometimes, she like stop moving and I can’t do anything, but overall its super good I highly recommend playing it. I also really like how you can choose how the story can go… I was kinda shocked when I saw the ending… I had to stared at the wall to just process the ending…. I won’t tell you what happen you will have to see for it for yourself… 🙃

i LOVE the story (this goes for oxenfree II too.) there are bugs like with the climbing and it’ll kick me from the game sometimes but other than that, theres no problems for me. FIVE STARS.

This game is amazing overall a really good game I played it a few years ago came back and it’s still in my top 10 favorite games, this game will never get old to me👍🏻

I love love love this game! I’ve only been playing for an hour but awesome graphics, interactive content and sounds. I’m a 90’s baby so when goosebumps came out and they had the books where the readers could pick the storyline and turn to that page loved it!! There is so many interactive story games but this one caught my attention!

The beat story line, I loved playing it so much. I love a good thriller but when i played ok the tv it was a bit glitchy so i played it mobile. This is the best game EVER!❤️

At the time of writing this, I have played both Oxenfree games, and I must say they are top tier games. At some moments I even cried. While the first game had it’s bugs that’s not what I focused on. The best part of the game, and the thing that stuck with me the most was the story.

First of all IM SHOCKEDDDD, I went into this game not expecting anything rlly and as soon as i started playing, I couldn’t stop. It’s like I got submerged into this whole new world and the sceneries, the story, the characters, EVERYTHING was literally perfect with a cool twist. It’s one of my favorite games EVER and I can’t wait to play the sequel!!! So so funnnn🤭 oh and Jonas is bae 🤭😏❤️ (main character’s stepbrother)

The background music is louder than the dialogue. I couldn’t find any option to turn it off. The game seemed interesting, but I couldn’t continue playing because of the annoying background music taking over.
