RECORD TRACKS
Record the routes/tracks of your hikes, bike tours, excursions, trips or sporting activities and evaluate them on a map, via diagrams and statistics.
You can do this manually and spontaneously, but also fully automatically in the background.
The latter can be helpful on vacations if you want to automatically record your local activities so that you can retrace them later ("Where was that café again?"). To do this, you tell the app once that the recording should be started when you leave the hotel and stopped when you enter it again. From then on, you no longer have to worry about it, but you still have all the routes of all the activities saved in the app when you get home.
Pado can display the heart rate data from Health-Kit together with the recorded tracks/routes. The photos from the album that were taken during the recording of the track can also be accessed via pins on the map. This makes it very easy to have all the data and photos directly available on the map if you want to retrace a hike.
The exported/imported options as GPX or KML files allow data exchange with other apps.
Especially for sporting activities, the app offers a voice output that provides status messages about the distance already covered, current speed, duration, altitude, direction, etc. during a track recording. This keeps you informed about your progress without having to look at your iPhone.
STEP COUNTER
The app offers a pedometer that can also count the floors climbed and shows how far you are from your daily steps goal.
TIME TRACKING
The "Time tracking" feature allows to automatically log when you are at which location and for how long. You simply define the locations to be monitored and the app does the rest.
ACTIONS
The heart of Pado are the location-based actions. You can define locations and what the app should do when you enter or leave these (the App will do this automatically in the background, it does not need to be active). The action can control track recording, the pedometer, the music player, notifications. The "WebHook" feature can be even used to carry out actions outside the iPhone. WebHook sends data to your own server, which can be used to link Pado to your own home automation system.
APPLE WATCH
Pado supports the Apple Watch and can record tracks/routes and steps autonomously (without having the iPhone with you). The Watch app can also remotele-control the iPhone app so that the iPhone can stay in your pocket.

- WLAN positioning (in areas with good WLAN coverage) for devices without GPS hardware (some iPad models).

Long-term use of GPS in the background can shorten the battery life.
PAYMENT MODEL
With Pado 3, the payment model has changed. The previously paid app is now offered free of charge. There are now three app levels:
- Free:
A maximum of 3 locations, 3 actions and 3 entries for time tracking can be created
- Standard (one-time purchase):
A maximum of 25 locations, 25 actions and 25 entries for time tracking can be created.
- Pro (one-time purchase):
Any number of locations, actions and entries for time tracking can be created.
Everything else is available in all three levels without restrictions
Users who have already purchased earlier versions of the app will automatically receive the Standard level free of charge. If restrictions have already been reached, existing actions/locations are not restricted.
New users can now react more flexibly to their own needs and use one of the three options as required. An inexpensive update from the Standard to the Pro version is also available at any time, in case you need more than you initially thought.
There is now also a tipping option for all those who value the app more than the small one-time payments and want to do something good for the developer.

Seems the below issues have been fixed now after using it a short while. Thanks to the vendor. I’ll report back if I have any further issues, but seems good at the moment. I can now confirm that there has to be an issue with Pado. Today I did 2x 19 mile trips (home to shopping, and 3 hours later back home). I checked for today and Pado HAD recorded both with the correct timings and mileage. I could see data from BOTH journeys. I closed Pado and went back in and found that my first trip of the day is now showing “0 miles” and a start time of 09:39 (I did set off at this time). So on initial opening everything was fine, Pado had recorded correctly. But on opening Pado after this it is now showing my first trip of the day as setting off at the correct time, but no mileage and no tracking data. This is happening quite a lot. At least 2 or 3 times a week. It’s as if when you close Pado it’s wiping the tracking data from at least one of the trips, but showing the correct set-off time. To the point I’m having to use Ryoti now for my trips. Which is a shame because I like Pado more. Since around a month to 6 weeks ago, for some reason Pado is missing certain days tracking. I’ve changed nothing in the settings at all. Not a thing. I started to suspect it was missing tracks when I looked back on some of the previous days, but I couldn’t be sure. So I started making a point of checking every day for the previous day and found a number of days missing when I know there should be entries. I’m not sure what is going on here. All I know is that I have not changed any settings at all in the Pado app, or my phone habits. I’m very reluctant to give this app anything other than 5 stars, because when it does work, it’s one of the best tracking apps out there. but something has gone wrong in the updates, I’m sure.
Excellent geo tracking App
Another excellent App from Alexander Clauss. Pado has all the geo tracking features I could wish for and the resulting information displayed after a walk/run/drive etc. is amazing. The App syncs to other devices so I can use my iPhone for tracking and then examine the journey in detail on my iPad's bigger screen.
As always support from Alexander Clauss is excellent and response time very rapid. The App is well priced and in my opinion very much worth it. Buy it, I am sure you won't be disappointed.

Ich nutze Pado schon seit vielen Jahren und bin noch immer begeistert. Die App funktioniert bei mir zuverlässig beim Aufzeichnen von Tracks und der Zeiterfassung. Auch das neue Design finde ich wirklich gelungen. Die App hätte eigentlich 10 Punkte verdient!

Hat Potential
In Verbindung mit der Pado App auf dem iPhone, wo diese App vprzüglicvh läuft, ist die Mac Applikation noch etwas "ruckewlig".
Vor allem das Fenster "Einstellungen" ist sehr zickig und lässt sich nicht sauber nach unten oder oben scrollen, um die iCloud Sync Einstellung vorzunehmen.
Hier muss noch etwsas Feinschliff erfolgen, dann passt das sicherlich auch.
Die eierlegende Wollmilchsau der Geo-Tracker
Weitgehend intuitiv zu bedienen, vorhandene Hilfetexte und die auch noch verständlich! Ausgesprochen zuverlässig.
Tolle App
Ich habe nach einem Tag testen soeben die Vollversion werben. Tolle schön gemachte App, die alles bietet was ich gesucht habe. Und kein Abo Modell! Die lehne ich grundsätzlich ab.
Habe nur 2 Wünsche: Würde mir wünschen, dass man Fotos hinzufügen kann und das man allgemein eine Notiz hinzufügen, nicht nur an einem Wegpunkt.
Sehr schneller Support
Auch benutze die App sehr gerne schon seit Jahren. Jetzt gab es ein Problem mit größeren Tracks (aus der Daueraufzeichnung) welches Herr Clauss schnell und gut gelöst hat. Bestimmt geht das nicht bei jedem Problem, mir hat er prima geholfen.
Von mir auf jeden Fall eine Kaufemfehlung.
Aufzeichnung nach beenden verschwunden
Anfangs hat das mit den Aufzeichnungen ganz gut funktioniert.
Jetzt beendet man die Aufzeichnung, aber alles ist weg.
Upgrade auf pro für iPad gemacht, mein iPhone erkennt das trotz „Kauf wiederherstellen“ nicht
Ich benutze Pado schon seit vielen Jahren und bin sehr zufrieden, wirklich eine tolle app. Ich habe gestern auf meinem iPad auf die neue Version aktualisiert und das upgrade auf pro gekauft. Auf dem iPhone habe ich auch auf die neue Version aktualsiert und bin danach wie üblich in die Einstellungen der App gegangen und habe „Einkäufe wiederherstellen„ angeklickt und dann meine Apple ID eingegeben. Das hat aber nichts bewirkt. Heute Nachmittag habe ich es nochmals versucht, ebenfalls ohne Erfolg. Habe ich da was übersehen? Beide Geräte laufen natürlich unter identischer Apple ID!
Ich werde den Entwickler mal per Mail kontaktieren, denn ich glaube nicht, dass das so beabsichtigt ist.
Vielleicht hätte ich das Upgrade auf pro nicht auf dem iPad, sondern auf meinem iPhone machen sollen. Aber daran hatte ich in dem Moment einfach nicht gedacht (das iPhone war das erste Gerät, auf dem ich Pado benutzt habe, erst später kam das iPad dazu).
