Excellent product

Ascendo Data Vault has served me well. It is intuitive to me and relatively easy to use.

Loved it for years

Have loved it for years, especially the way it syncs across devices and is so easy to restore.

Problem with edits

I’ve had this app for several years and in general I love it for keeping track of passwords and other information BUT for a couple of years now I’ve been having issues with lost edits. For example I update and expiration date for a credit card. I save it. But when I go back it’s not there. Usually it has reverted back to the previous information. I have to save the change go out then go back in to check again to make sure the change was saved -sometimes more than once. Very annoying and waste of time.

iOS integration needs work

Edit: still an issue, most places it wants to create a new password when there’s already one saved. Sometimes if the app been open for a while it stops using Face ID and demands I enter a password. It’s faster to just kill the app and run it again so that it uses Face ID. I wish I could always search through my passwords when I chose DataVault in the iOS password fill integration instead of only being offered to creat a new web password. I have to do this manually right now because the app and web site don’t always have the same name/url.

Great to see full featured apps with a solid functionality that are away from the forced subscription business model. Keep up the great job.

Unable to get my passwords

After using Data Vault for years, I purchased a new iPad. When I attempted to restore all my password data to the new device, it rejected the request with the message “password must be the same as the one used at the time of backup”. The passwords are the same. I emailed support twice and finally received a reply…. the fix suggested was to re-boot the iPad. This did not work. Now I have years worth of passwords that I can no longer access.
