Pear Note

This is still my favourite note taking app for meetings and lectures. I've had problems with syncing with Dropbox and no new version for long time and soon to be retired because I keep getting warnings that it is not 64 bit compatible and will be blocked when apple enforces it soon?

I've been testing various apps that sync notes with audio. For this function, Pear Notes is easily the best in its class. The extended keyboard, control over paragraph styles, the visual effects during playback, the ability to organize notes and the syncing with the desktop version of Pear Note all mark this out as really well-considered app. All the other apps in this range have this functionality either tacked on, or do it at a very basic level. Pear Note is built from the ground up to do one thing, and do it well. For instance, you can use the audio bar to scrub through the recording, and as you do the text is continuously highlighted to show where it relates to the audio. It will get the final star when a quirk has been fixed. - the text loupe seems to be non-standard and clunky. The loupe sits in a opaque white square that obscures text while you're moving it. A puzzling lack of interface polish. Also: - No ability to change fonts. Not a deal-breaker, and the standard font selection is OK. I'd like the ability to pick my own font, though. Actually, a little more chrome throughout the app wouldn't hurt. I've found I like a bit of skeumorphism on the iPad.

this app will not download and report a problem is a waste of effort...give me my money back...

I use the program often with wonderful results. Hope the developer will incorporate Apple Pencil with the program.

Please update so that I can continue to use this great app. Updated Sept 30th Thank you for updating to be compatible to iOS 11.

Pear Note is my go to note taking app. My chief complaint is that the developers are slow to incorporate updates. What I like best is the ability to upload an outline prior to meeting. Then I can mark each speaker then immediately return during editing.

I have important info on this app- need iOS 11 update ASAP!

Lazy developers are inattentive to improvement suggestions and the apps for mobile are all but useless. When they finally do update the software it introduces MORE bugs, not less. Use Evernote or something else. These clowns are just reaping the app sales at this point for this antiquated piece of junk.

App is abandoned and of little use now. Falling way behind in features and compatibility.

I'm a little sore about this. The developer seems to think that no serious work needs to be done on this app since it was completed somewhere around iOS 4. It's a niche app, so it's good enough, I guess. I feel like I didn't get the value I was expecting.
