Picnic - Dive into Communities

I speak on a few topics, so tiktok with its narrow algorithm does not suit me. On a picnic, I can create a community by milking a certain topic and talking about what I want. Algorithm will show my posts to interested people automatically.

Hello! I’m here to share my experience with picnic and its community. [CW: I will be talking about some every heavy topics so please don’t read this review if your not in a good head space] (This is bond to have misspellings because I’m dyslexic but I didn’t want to give anymore of my energy to this) I heard of this app through a trusted friend At the time I was having troubles with other social media platforms that I got hate on for my hobby. I downloaded the app and found it glitches quite often but other then that it was simple and after a day or two of using it I understood how to navigate it. I was pleased with the simple out lay and style of the app overall. I’m sorry to say my experience from this point on with the community was disappointing. I would start to read a post about a minor probably about 8-11 years old describing how their mental state was. I’m not against people reaching out for help or wanting comfort But these kids are not informing in the beginning of these that their venting about self harm or suicidal thoughts. Sometimes they don’t even state they are venting at all. I’m a human being to and I can only take so much. I’m a sweet and kind person but I can’t handle the constant reminders of these topics and the worst part was many times I wasn’t mentally prepared for those topics due to the fact I had know way of knowing that’s what was being talked about. I found that I would have to be the one comforting so many people and having to supervise people who would get into fights and do my every best to be knowledgeable and tell people why what they were doing is wrong. I had to inform misinformed kids and break down fights and try and stop them. I felt I would have to babysit a bunch of kids on the internet I saw so many children doing online dates for which is every unsafe. They were posting about being willing to give their name and location if they got “comfortable.” I don’t except these children to realize the target they put on themselves but the fact their was a circle on this app for dateing and it was allowed and not taken down seriously disturbs me. I know someone could’ve been put into an every every dangerous situation. This is the internet no-one can truly stop a child predator from getting a hold of this app. No child would know what danger they put themselves in because predators are friends and comfortable people to be around until they’re not. I loved making new friends and getting know people, and it was fun to see people who enjoyed the same things as me! I even discovered new things I liked and disliked. You can see that people love expressing them self and feeling safe with one another. I’m so sad it’s down, and picnic is over but it was fun while it lasted!!💔🙂

There’s a bunch of ped0ph!les and it was disgusting, they messaged me and stuff. 2024 edit: don’t attack me guys but don’t bring this app back. There is private messaging and that can cause predators to get to children.
